This unsophisticated utility is far from being ultimate. In our testing, it let in numerous pop-ups, especially on the site for the French newspaper Le Monde. The utility does not have a blacklist, and you can't block pop-ups manually. Ultimate Popup Killer eats a fair amount of memory for such a simple tool. Pros maybe if you figure swamping your machine with nothingness, somehow. Get yourself a free download of the new netscape, it wont let in a single popup

It changed my home page first. Then in IE, it wont let you click on a link that opens up in a new window - even when its not opening a popup. It did get some popups but overall, its annoying and a waste of time.

I hate this program so much, it makes me cry at night. If you have any intentions of downloading it, shoot your computer then yourself and save some time. It changes your homepage to some worthless search page, EVEN if you don't argee to the terms and agreements page, EVEN if you delete and empty it, and even if you re-download it, install it, then uninstall it. dont bother. Oh, BTW, the program itself isnt even that good.

Installed it, and my ancient P3 733 slowed down to a crawl. Changes start page without clear warning (I think if I read the small print, I'd have known). Overall, the free version is a complete waste of bandwidth.

As everyone else has stated it changes your home page to searchby.com and it took my IT department around 3 hours to clean up the mess searchby.com created. Not only it is nearly impossible to get rid of it, I have a sneaky suspicion that it allows other (unwanted) programs to be downloaded to your computer. Ultimate Popup Kill and Searchby.com will cause you more problems and annoyances than the popups themselves . . . BEWARE!

Then the trouble starts, the pop up stopper starts up when you switch on, it changes your default home page to searchby.com, sometimes it stops you logging on to the internet altogether, it doesn't tell you when it blocks a pop up it only returns the no network connection page and it's causes Norton 2004 to crash. -
