From UBCD4Win :UBCD4Win is a bootable "live" CD which contains software that allows you to repair/restore/diagnostic almost any computer problem. All software included in UBCD4Win are freeware utilities for Windows. UBCD4Win is based on Bart's PE. Bart's PE builds a Windows "pre-install" environment CD, basically Windows booted from CD. With network support, the ability to modify NTFS volumes, recover deleted files, create new NTFS volumes, and scan hard drives for viruses. This project includes almost everything you need to repair your system problems.

Version: Ultimate Boot CD 3
"Best collection to save your PC in one place"
Pros: Nice collection of utilities, helps you build a bootable Windows CD that'll access your HD, recover and troubleshoot problems, and much more.
Cons: As this is a collection of tools, there is no consistent user-interface and you need to know which tools are good for what, definitely only for people who know what they're doing.

"Great tool for techs and admin"
Pros: Well documented and supported in on-line forum. It's a tech / admin best friend.
Cons: If you don't take the time to read the directions, then you will have problems.

"Even better than all previous versions combined!"
Pros: The perfect utility for general system recovery, among many other things! :-D
Cons: Sometimes virus false positives are annoying. But after reading the instructions and FAQ on the website, all was well. :-)

"The best thing you can have near your computer!"
Pros: This boot CD has saved me from formatting several computers. Need to restore your registry to a previous state. I did that today with the last 420 registy states showing up as an option. I can say enough. Even if you can't boot up Windows in SafeMode, this gives you all sorts of tools to repair your computer. And if you can't repair it, you can use this to back up data that you cannot afford to lose. It is free and will save you hours and hours of time!
