Version: Ulead VideoStudio 8.0
"Even their web site crashes!!!"
Pros: Incompatible with any Windows version beyond 2000 (and sometimes with that one as well). Fails to initialize under WinXP Pro SP2 (from full version disk).
Cons: Forget about this one, it isn't worth it, unless you have a very old version and run Win 95 or 98. Completely incompatible with NT based Windows (ME, 2000, NT, XP, all releases). Even their web site had serious issues. The installation program is riddled with errors to numerous to list, ranging from the above incompatibilities to missing required files off their production full (retail) version CD-ROM. With so many problems, I'm amazed they are still in business. Maybe that is why their web site doesn't work right?

"Easy to use, lots of features included"
Pros: Lots of included transistions. Easy to use with multi-track. Very rarely does it crash. Using on XP and haven't had problems loading. Now Pinnacle is a different story.
Cons: The capture interface and layout is not as nice a some others (Pinnacle), but at least you can acutally create a movie.

"Good to make Movie, poor to watch"
Pros: The proram works well. Lot of features and easy to create a professional movie.
Cons: The output quality is not usable. I made VCD, but while using it on VCD player the image comes frame by frame with pause. The sound and pics do not match. It only works well in very high end computer. Also if I make MPEG file the file size is too big (1.5 GB) for 70 minute movie and the image is not at all good quality. The output from Windows Movie maker which comes with windows XP is better. If ULEAD can provide solution to above problem this can be termed as BEST VIDEO EDITING Software.
One more limitation - Project created in 8.0 version can not be openned in 7.0 version

Summary: I am surprised by the lack of stability of this program. I am not an novice and know how to setup and work software. If there were conflicts, they were not listed in 'troubleshooting' and I did all the troubleshooting that I care to do.

"unstable..installed by the book and it crashed"
Summary: cant even get it to run.bombed straight away after long download and install...maybe its a good product but ill never know as had enough of trying to get it to run andgive up...certainly wouldnt buy such unstable sofware gonna buy magix instead its ... read more >>
