From UBCD4Win :UBCD4Win is a bootable "live" CD which contains software that allows you to repair/restore/diagnostic almost any computer problem. All software included in UBCD4Win are freeware utilities for Windows. UBCD4Win is based on Bart's PE. Bart's PE builds a Windows "pre-install" environment CD, basically Windows booted from CD. With network support, the ability to modify NTFS volumes, recover deleted files, create new NTFS volumes, and scan hard drives for viruses. This project includes almost everything you need to repair your system problems. Version 3.20 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, and bug fixes.

"Absolutely the best recovery disk (CD) Iā??ve ever used!"
Pros: Absolutely the best recovery disk (CD) Iā??ve ever used! In an e-mail I got a virus hidden install from Ccbillsvc.com on July 9, 2008 pushing the adware program System Doctor. To get out of the loop I formatted my drive and reloaded the backup created with UBCD4Win! Took around an hour and everything was fine.

Pros: program loaded up and worked fine booted up ok on two other PC's and allowed access to recover files from a locked XP laptop

"The MOST useful tool in my arsenal, bar NONE!!!!"
Pros: If you've got an infected machine, or you can't remember the admin password there is no better tool to get the job done efficiently and reliably. There are tools galore all on a bootable CD that can't get infected! This is a MUST HAVE for IT support!
Cons: The only problem (and a minor one at that) is it boots off of a CD. It's a blessing since you can't infect the CD with a virus, but it takes a LONG time to boot up. On a 3GHz machine with 2GB RAM, you can anticipate about 3-7 minutes of boot time.
Summary: Despite UBCD4WIN's long boot time, it's well worth the wait when you are trying to fix a broken machine. (You'll likely be waiting around for virus and spyware scans to complete in the not too distant future anyway, so what's the hurry, right?)

"Excellent product and it's free"
Pros: Easy to use.
Cons: No Cons for me.
Summary: I downloaded this to help a freid who had forgotten her password. It took less than 10 minutes to resolve her problem.
