From UBCD4Win :UBCD4Win is a bootable "live" CD which contains software that allows you to repair/restore/diagnostic almost any computer problem. All software included in UBCD4Win are freeware utilities for Windows. UBCD4Win is based on Bart's PE. Bart's PE builds a Windows "pre-install" environment CD, basically Windows booted from CD. With network support, the ability to modify NTFS volumes, recover deleted files, create new NTFS volumes, and scan hard drives for viruses. This project includes almost everything you need to repair your system problems. Version 3.06 features: NOD32 'false positive' fixed, updated BTS drivers (now enabled by default), new nVidia NIC drivers package added, and several other small updates.
Note: This is a very large (196MB) file and may take several hours to download via slow Internet connection.

Pros: It is a great starting point for a system that has problems and will not boot.

"Works good for DriveImage XML"
Pros: I use this to load Windows and run DriveImage XML (a free drive image ghosting software for Windows XP/Vista). I used BartPE for the boot CD before, but it could never find the network drivers. UBCD4Win's uses BartPE but adds extras such as a driver pack that has worked on all my system network cards. It also adds other helpful troubleshooting and repair tools.
Cons: It's over 500 MBs where as BartPE is less than 200 MBs, but both will fit on a CD-R. And you need a Windows XP/Vista Install Disk before you can use this software, which can suck if you ordered a Dell that didn't come with one.

"Great collection of arse-saving software!"
Pros: Feature packed. Takes some knowledge and time to make the disk but it's worth it. Am going to make copies for my family. Developer website has great instructions on how to burn the disk and the execute its operation. (Google "UBCD4Win). Be sure to read them first
Cons: Really, no cons. Because it operates like a "live disk", it'ss a bit slow, but that's typical.
