This excellent freeware utility makes the potentially daunting prospect of cleaning your Windows Registry safe and simple. The interface is spare and straightforward, and most users will probably only need the Scan and Remove buttons.
The settings are configured for immediate use, although you may exclude some Registry branches and references to removable drives from the scan. The default Beginner mode only displays items marked safe to remove, and the Expert mode makes clear which ones aren't. In case something goes wrong after deletion, you can quickly restore the removed keys.
In our tests, the utility found and removed hundreds of junk entries in minutes, making it a worthy download for almost any home user, especially those who are less technically inclined.
Publisher's description
From Tweak Now :The Registry is the heart and soul of any Windows system. It contains information that controls how your system appears and how it behaves. When you install an application, new Registry entries will be created. These entries automatically will be deleted when you uninstall the application. Unfortunately, this process does not always work. Sometimes, some applications fail to remove their own Registry entries. These entries become obsolete. After a long period, after you install and uninstall a number of applications, your Windows Registry will contain a large number of obsolete entries. This will significantly increase the Registry size and slow down your computer, because Windows will need more time to load, search, and read data from the Registry. To keep your computer at top performance, it is recommended you periodically clean your Windows Registry.

Version: TweakNow RegCleaner 4.0
"Easy and safe to use but does not catch all"
Pros: Very intuitive and easy to use.
Safe, with automatic registry backup and easy to use restore features.Cons: Does not catch all registry errors, even with a deep scan..
Summary: This product is very intuitive to use. It is also safe. It does a backup before making any changes. If you stick to the "green" safe to delete items I experienced no problems whatsoever and a good registry cleanup.

Version: TweakNow RegCleaner 4.0
Pros: Grabs stuff in the registry that really has no reason to be there any more ( uninstalled stuff, orphaned extensions- the usual detritus which accumulates in a registry if one plays with a Windows computer)
Cons: none? that I can think of, anyway...

Version: TweakNow RegCleaner 4.0
"This new version is a step in the wrong direction."
Pros: Free. Small footprint.
Cons: At least in English it was almost impossible to decipher what step to take after the scan for registry errors was done (something like a button marked "Repair" would be expected).
As with prior versions, the list of scanned areas is a bit sparse.Summary: User unfriendly for speakers of English. Ugly UI. Honestly I thought the earlier/simpler versions were a little better and with this incarnation have uninstalled it. Superior option: Wise Registry Cleaner.
