Tune Sweeper is a program which enables you to manage songs in your iTunes library. It's primary function is to find and remove duplicate tracks in iTunes. Tune Sweeper scans iTunes for duplicate tracks based on your preferred search criteria, such as matching track names, artist, and album. It will then choose one version to keep and the unwanted files will be marked for removal. All you need do after this is simply choose which duplicates to keep and which to discard all with the click of a button. Once you have clicked the remove option, all your unwanted duplicates will be magically removed and your music library cleaned. Optionally, tracks removed from iTunes are backed up for safe keeping.
In addition to the duplication removal option, Tune Sweeper can also make your iTunes using experience run a lot smoother with the ability to find and delete missing tracks in iTunes. A missing track is one of those which is listed in your library but the file is actually missing from your hard drive so cannot be played. With Tune Sweeper you can safely remove these tracks and also avoid those 'file missing' errors when syncing your iPhone or iPod. The latest update to Tune Sweeper now also enables you to discover tracks on your hard drive which are not in iTunes and add them to iTunes. Tune Sweeper will make using your iTunes library experience a much more enjoyable one and will save you valuable disk space on your computer.
What's new in this version: Version 2.001 adds capability to discover tracks on your hard drive which are not in iTunes and add them to your iTunes library. Also adds French language support.

"good fast cleaner"

Pros
ran through my 4000 tunes in no time at all. Gave me a good solid list of duplicates and asked me what I wanted to do with them, One click would have cleared the lot
Cons
my main problem was that the duplicates were in two different media formats, and I wanted to delete every duplicate that was not an MP3. Unfortunately the sweeper did not offer me this option. So I used the list provided and deleted them manual.

Pros
I had literately hundreds of duplicates on iTunes resulting from several attempts to import my music. Some of the songs wouldn't play and iTunes was complaining about the original file not being found. My library was a complete mess and I couldn't find an easy way to fix this in iTunes. I found Tune Sweeper and I'm happy to say that it worked brilliantly for me - it let me remove the broken songs which wouldn't play and all my duplicates in a few minutes.
Cons
I haven't experienced any problems when using Tune Sweeper.
Summary
This was an easy to use solution for cleaning up my iTunes library.

after 24 hours it had deleted a grand total of 24 out of 764 songs. Tech support is useless. after 24 hrs you get an automated message saying you should increase search criteria.. that doesnt work. 24 hours aftger that... it goes on and on. Basically, I wouldnt waste my time with this. there has to be better options out there

"Great scrubber for large librarys"

Lightweight, fast to install, easy to use, thourough library scrubbing and file backup.

Looks and runs like freeware.
Summary
This application worked excellently. I reduced my 150gb library to 118 using the sweeper. I wasn't expecting it to archive the duplicates it took from my iTunes in another location- but I'm glad it did. I compressed the archive so that the songs wouldn't sneak back into my iTunes, and I'm glad I'll be able to find any music that went "missing." For me, with such a large library across a few computers it was worth every cent. With a library under 10,000 songs or under 1,000 duplicates.

"Find and remove duplicates the easy way"

Pros
Tune Sweeper lets you find duplicates songs stored on your hard disk and saves you more hard disk than you can possibly imagine. In doing so it makes the library well-organized as well. Additionally, you will no longer see any files in the library that have been deleted from the computer. To me, this is the best feature that does not come with iTunes but Tune Sweeper does it for you.

"The best iTunes cleaner ever"

Pros
Tune Sweeper lets you find and delete duplicate songs and media files in iTunes library. It not only searches for files with similar file names but also on the basis of Artist, Genre and year. When I first ran Tune Sweeper I was thinking I would get 2-3 results at most but I was amazed when it returned 100s of duplicates in the library. I think this is the best and most efficient tool around.

Pros
Tune Sweeper surprised me with the number of duplicate tracks in my hard drive. The great thing is that it lets you decide which file to keep and which to delete. I run Tune Sweeper once a month and honestly speaking, it always finds duplicates where ever they might be hiding.

How do you feel when deleted songs keep showing up in the iTunes library. Seriously, I mean what's the point of keeping them in the library when you don't want to listen to them in the first place? This problem was solved by Tune Sweeper. It finds duplicate tracks as well as ones that have been deleted. Tune Sweeper makes your iTunes library organized and streamlined in 2 minutes.

Tune Sweeper scans your entire iTunes library and finds duplicate and deleted tracks that still exist in the library. This may seem to be a basic functionality but if you have 20 GB music library you will agree with me that organizing it is a massive task that will take a lot of effort. This job is done by Tune Sweeper in minutes.

I did not find anything good about this it is nothing more then a trick to make you buy a service
Cons
the program says its free then once it is ready to delete your duplicates it wants to charge you. I know this is not the first company to do this, but it still sucks
