With Trend Micro Internet Security 2008, you need only to provide your e-mail address to activate the full function 30-day free trial.
Once installed, the protection provided by Trend Micro is good. The two-way firewall blocks Internet threats, while scanners remove viruses, spyware, and rootkits. The interface is clean and intuitive, with configuration settings accessible for more advanced users. The suite includes additional tools to identify legitimate Wi-Fi hot spots (Wi-Fi Advisor), parental controls, Internet Web protection, home network protection, and even a system tune-up diagnostic (System Tuner).
Trend Micro provides free telephone, e-mail, and chat technical support, which is important since the online technical support information for Trend Micro Internet Security 2008 is not that good. Not only does Trend Micro lack a Getting Started PDF, but there is no manual and far too few knowledge base articles. Removal is clean: we found no traces of Trend Micro Internet Security on our system after reboot.

Pros: its like pro version except without the pro features. Worth the money. Easy to use, and barley takes up space, and not a memory hog

Version: Trend Micro Internet Security 2008 16.10.1063
Pros: after using norton for 12 months i decided to try trend micro and i have to say that im pretty pleased with it and it runs problem free on my machine.it loads up quickly and updates take no time at all.i also like the simple to use interface.
Cons: what i dont like about it is it doen't let you download and use other anti spy programs.i dont like to have all my eggs in 1 bascket, and like most internet security, you never know if its protecting you against everything.

Version: Trend Micro Internet Security 2008 16.10.1063
"No longer the suite I'd hoped for!"
Pros: i used Trend 06, loved it!. In 07 the suite became a recource hog,a I could push it, I looked elsewhere. At least in 2007 the AV, AS scans had their own seperate modules. In 2008, they fixed the suits recource usage, combined the scans into one scan and thats where I decided to change security on both my desktop and laptop. You can buy this and some other internet security on line at buycheapsoftwaredotcom for around $20.00, KIS 7 is the same price so thats where I went. I've alyways had a great customer support experience by phone with Trend Micro so I can't figure the comment about poor support in another review.
Cons: But, whats happened to my once favorite security suite? It has become a cookie killer, can't clean many infections, one scan instead of seperate spy and virus scans etc. Quite frankly it's become a pain in the rear end.. My 2008 license is good thru 12/20/08 but I'm no longer using it. It doesn't compare to KIS, ESET and the others that are what I need in a suite. It's more like Mcafee and Norton now. Uninstall crashed my Vista system. It'as no longer in my list of good suits even at $20,00 a year!
