Trend Micro Antispyware is a wonderful program. It is lighting quick in every way. It is by far the fastest scanner I have ever used. It finished a full system scan within an hour. Compared to my other antispyware programs this is an amazing accomplishment. This antispyware also comes with a realtime protection system. It works pretty well in terms of defending, but i think it uses to much RAM personally. For those of you with a gig of RAM or more this should be no problem really.
Cons
There aren't many faults with this program in my opinion. the biggest one i think is the fact that it not ready for vista... And also its scanning may not be as powerful as some of its competitors. AVG antispyware is a good example of this. It found one trojan after trend micro had finished a full system scan. Im not saying that the scanner is terrible. im just saying that you should possibly pair this up with another antispyware program and not have this one as your stand alone.

Sadly, it did not detect what Spyware Doctor was able to find as a "DNS Changer" trojan virus. I'll still give it two stars since five other top-rated anti-spywares also didn't find the scumware.

since trend micro has had this combo av/spyware scanner out for a while now, and cnet has not seen fit to put it on the site for downloading, i'm gonna force the issue. although i haven't given it enough time for a truly thorough review, here's what i can say. relative to webroots version of spysweeper/sophos av. this app is about equal in the antispy department, and blows it out of the water in the av detection dept. they cost the same, only trend micro let's you try their product. as well they should, since the av engine actually works. less drag than the webroot combo. oh..... and cheers to cnet for leaving the same stinking review of the trend micro anti spy app, before they had a chance to refine it from it's spy subtract days. then never looking into it again. real pity, because this version is so much more refined than it was when they took it over. and by the way Milton Martorella your copy and paste replies about the mighty sophos impress no one. webroot is fast becoming another mcafee, not satisfied until they've milked you out of every cent you have. try getting support for sophos, then try trend micro. no comparison. furthermore, trend micro is developing a product like mcafee's site advisor, one more nail in mcafee's coffin (i hope)

"Nice Product!"

Today I updated my "Trend AS" and it has 206,330 signatures. Fast scanner and fairley easy on recources . Has a good detection rate and far better than average active protection. It does a full scan on 30.4 GB used on hard drive in about 8 minutes more than a quick scan and has features not found in most anti spy apps. Detected 2 that my other apps missed although 1 is a game installer which I easily added to the white list. Easy to install and use. I rate this app worthy and recomend it.
Cons
I read a couple of reviews by someone else who asked download to "clean it up". While this app is very, very different now, yet reviews are still posted from 2005! Not at all fair to us, the people who visit this site. I evan read a review which I know for a fact is on TMAS 3.5. So download, "CLEAN IT UP" or at least get rid of the 2005 reviews!!!!

User friendly product. Customizable scanning, fast scanning, and low disk consumption.
Cons
It can't detect keyloggers. I installed an Actual Keylogger on my PC for my privacy when I'm not in my home. Trend Micro Anti-Spyware 3 did not detect this...unlike other anti spyware! Im not sure if other keylogger programs will surpassed its Venus Spy Trap. Another problem I've seen was it sometimes hog my memory RAM...uses more resources.
