Trace is a free document security tool that provides information privacy and security. Trace analyzes Microsoft Office documents and alerts you if the document contains information on previous authors and edits, hidden track changes, comments and speaker notes, server paths and email addresses, intellectual property, financial information, profanity, regulatory information, and over 20 other hidden information elements. An 'Always-On' document security risk rating alerts you to the presence of dangerous data in all the documents you touch. Run Trace against any Microsoft Office document on your computer, company network, or external Web site.

Version: Trace by Workshare 2
"Finds hidden info in Word docs fast."
Pros: This tool ran pretty fast and found a bunch of Track Changes I had left in my documents. It had a nice interface. All in all it does a good job at identifying docs with hidden data. Kind of scary how many documents I've sent out without realizing there was information left in there. Also fun to run this against the documents people send to you.
Cons: Downside is it doesn't remove any of the data if finds, and of course they push another product that does remove it called Workshare Protect.
