Version: Total Recorder Standard Edition 5.3
"Doesn't work as advertised; No support despite repeated requests"
Pros: Most of it works, but not the feature that I bought it for. See below.
Cons: I made the unfortunate mistake of paying money to upgrade to Total Recorder Pro v 5.3. The program just does not do what it claims to do, or what I need it to do. Even more disappointing, despite a couple of requests for support, I was provided no support or even a response to my e-mails. It may be that this product is no longer supported.
Total Recorder works, but not as advertised, and not with all programs it claims to work with. For example, if you want to record streaming audio and have the individual songs automatically split into individually named files, you're out of luck. You'll either get one huge file with a numberic name that contains all of the songs you were listening to, or you'll get many small files with numerical names. So you have to name each song individually, which becomes very tedious. So, what's the point. This even happens in popular programs that it claims to work with. The help instructions are useful, but they don't work with all programs it claims it does.

Version: Total Recorder Standard Edition 5.3
"Great Product, even better support!"
Pros: Inexpensive, reliable, easy-to-use, and the support is fantastic. I purchased version 4.? over a year ago and thought I would visit the high criteria web site. I noticed there was an update available, so I decided to download it. Since my email address had changed since the initial registration, I had to request a key to be e-mailed to me. It was emailed to me in less than 24hrs, and here I am with the latest version at NO COST. They even wished me a Merry Christmas in their email! Where can you find that kind of service?
Cons: None really.

Version: Total Recorder Standard Edition 5.3
"waste of time, if you want to record more than 63 seconds"
Pros: the program has merit because it does perform the desired result. It records sound, either by stream or audio on your pc.
Cons: Nothing more than freeware without merit. Limitions of this application are:1/ you can only record into .wav files and with the sound distortion every 60 seconds, it's a waste of time to download. Maybe it's worth buying .... maybe

Version: Total Recorder Standard Edition 5.3
"Everything I needed for recording onto my PC!"
Pros: This program has everything that I needed for recording. There is so much value here, I cannot believe the price. I've looked at other recorders, but this is easily the best application for the best price. I asked a couple of questions in an email and I got my response back without any problems.
Cons: No problems so far!

Version: Total Recorder Standard Edition 5.3
Pros: I originally downloaded the product to see if I could digitize an interview that I made with my analog dictaphone. Then I discovered that there are many more ways to use Total Recorder - from recording songs from CD in MP3 format (for my iPod) to capturing live talks I have via Skype. Absolutely indispensable application which I recommend to anyone.
Cons: Would like to have more editing functions, but then they have Professional Edition...I'm currently checking it :-)
