From High Criteria :Total Recorder Standard Edition records streaming audio from RealPlayer or Windows Media Player, microphone input, line-in input, DVDs, or CDs. The resulting files can be saved in WAV or MP3 format. This program also can convert different sound formats to WAV, WMA, or MP3. Version 5.0 adds support for add-ons including those for sound restoration, and additional support for audio normalization.

Pros: I've been using this software for many years. The software has worked perfectly, expandability is great, and the free upgrades are awesome! I've received 3 major upgrades free for my initial $11.00 investment. No adds, no spyware, just a great piece of software.
