From TIFNY :Tifny is an automated interface with the Usenet newsgroups and a thumbnail picture gallery in one. It lets you download images, text messages, and other file formats from hundreds of newsgroups with minimum effort. You can view the downloaded files as thumbnails or as full-size images by directory just like you would with a traditional viewer, or you can sort them by newsgroup, author, organization, date, width, height, size, or other custom selection. You can even add your own pictures to the collection. Tifny lets you filter by author, organization, newsgroup, file series, file type, and keyword, as well as by the number of newsgroups to which the article was posted and the size of the file. It also avoids redundant searching and duplicate downloading, saving you time and bandwidth. This release features additional options on the thumbnail pop-up menu, new wallpaper options, and various bug fixes. This demo version encrypts image files that Tifny shows so that only Tifny can display them. It will also not display GIF images because of the limitations of the Unisys LZW license. GIF images will not be encrypted and you can use your own image viewer to see them.
