From TIFNY :With Tifny you can download images, music files, video files, and other formats. Tifny searches your favorite Usenet newsgroups, identifies the photo and music files that interest you, and downloads them into its easy-to-use database. You can view the Usenet newsgroups as a stream of images, videos, and music. Or you can visit a single newsgroup and pick individual files that interest you. Tifny opens up to six news server connections simultaneously using multiple connections to a single server or to multiple servers. It downloads all file types and supports downloading in UUencode, Base64, and yEnc formats. And it handles large and cumbersome, multisegment music and video files. Tifny checks multipart files for completeness and automatically downloads, combines, and catalogs them for you. Tifny learns from past usage and utilizes that information to quickly and efficiently capture only what you want. All downloaded files are added to Tifny's database, along with images and music that you add from your existing collection. Tifny has a built-in MP3 player, which includes a jukebox, a built-in image viewer that lets you enjoy your images, and there's even a video player. Tifny's thumbnailer makes it easy to browse your files by directory, newsgroup, and file type. Plus you can locate and sort them by keyword, author, date, or size.
