Telescope is a metasearch engine for Windows, which automates web searching by combining results from several search engines. In addition to general web searching, it can access results from web directories, image search engines, news web sites, encyclopedias, and free software archives. Telescope searches 38 search engines including 7 in the web category.
Telescope supports boolean queries with OR, NOT, and quotes, when querying search engines. If you use these advanced operators, they are applied to search engines that support them, and a simple "all words" query is generated for those that do not.
The Verify Pages feature allows you to remove broken links and irrelevant pages without looking at them. It downloads each page, checks for your search terms, assigns the page a rank, and even updates the page's summary. There is also a Find in Results feature. A History feature keeps track of your previous searches for quick reference. There is also the option of saving a list of search results or exporting it as hypertext.
What's new in this version:
- Export to CSV (comma-separated values)
- Choice of browsers from Options menu (compatibility unknown)
- Fixed links to Windows Live Search, Google Images, and LII.org
- Replaced "Moreover" with Windows Live News
- Moved Save As, Open, etc. back to File menu

Pros
Saves you time by searching and finding only the best of the best sites for you in mere seconds. Gives you many options to delete the sites immediately that you don't want to visit...leaving only the ones that you do. Use it to find ANYTHING...
Cons
There is absolutely nothing that I don't like about this program except that I can't use it on my Vista laptop...apparently it is not compatible. I do wish the software engineers would fix that isssue.
Summary
I absolutely love this program and I know you will too. It allows you to do so many things. It is the best search engine online IMHO. It's the only one I ever use and I see now that they put every version on this download site...kudos! The best part is that it is FREE! This search engine saves you time by taking MANY popular search engines and in seconds bringing you hundreds of responses...but only the best ones. You can search for anything...my favorite searches include free graphics, ebooks, recipies, programs. The sky is the limit. You can find whole directories and chats in a click. it's simple to delete the items that you don't want. You have the ability to save the whole face page for later viewing. You can do research using several different encyclopedias or resources or newspapers. Your options are endless. I have been using Telescope for years. I stumbled upon it quite by accident and I have used it almost everyday since. An excellent resource for students, cooks, writers, and anyone doing research. Or anyone looking for something and doesn't know exactly where to go. Type anything in the box and enter and off you go. I hope you enjoy this program as much as I do. I find that I learn something everytime I use it. Thank you to this softwares' developers ! You have a great product. Keep up the great work !
