This easy-to-use application works well for regulating your kids' PC and Internet use, though it doesn't filter Web content or restrict access to specific programs, as do many of its competitors. TeenagerGoodnight's sparse interface may not look like much, but it is easy to navigate. Parents can set password protection and schedule periods of shutdown by specific day and hour. During our tests, TeenagerGoodnight successfully shut down our PC, helpfully warning us of the shutdown beforehand.

The program can't be uninstalled without a password, but PC-savvy kids can soon figure out that it's easily disabled via the Task Manager. With that in mind, TeenagerGoodnight works well for managing computer use, but may only be suitable for parents with younger kids.

TeenagerGoodnight allows parents to control what hours the computer should be shutdown. Parents choose the days and the hours the computer should be shutdown and how much warning should be given before a shutdown occurs. It also allows parents to configure times when Internet Access via dial-up is not allowed.
