With digital music files of all breeds floating around your hard drive, you need a good tag editor to keep things tidy. Tag&Rename fits the bill perfectly, with its multitude of features and support for MP3, WMA, OGG, and iTunes M4A files. In addition, it can write ID3v1 and ID3v2 formats, as well as add tags based on the filename. The interface of Tag&Rename looks a bit chaotic, but we warmed to it. We liked the integration with FreeDB.org and AllMusic.com services, which lets you download tag information for full albums. New users may look for something that's easier to use or opt for their players' built-in tag editors, but those with large collections or a variety of media types will fall in love with Tag&Rename.Publisher's description

Tag&Rename has full native support for: mp3 (ID3v1, ID3v2.2, ID3v2.3 and ID3v2.4 tags), Windows Media WMA, ASF and WMV files, OGG Vorbis and Flac (vorbis comments), Apple iTunes AAC m4a/mp4/m4p/m4b/m4v files, MusePack mpc (APEv1, APEv2 and ID3v1 tags), most popular lossless codecs including monkey's audio, wav pack, optim frog, flac, tta and wav. Tag&Rename supports many additional tag fields including lyrics, cover art, rating, mood, disc #, classical music fields (Composer, Conductor), file related URLs. With Tag&Rename, you can automatically fix and complete file tags using online freedb database, load titles and cover art, get tags data from file names and its folders structures, rename your music files and folders according to its tag information in a batch. Tag&Rename include full Unicode support.
Version 3.5.2 adds support for cover art in png, support for new cover standard in ogg.

"Get Music Info Editor. Period."
Pros: Does everything I'd ever want a tag-editor to do and more. It even edits tags on videos as well. The interface is easy to use and never glitchy. It just works exactly how it should.
Cons: There's really nothing to say here. The worst I could say is that it may be too liberating. One might not know what to do with so many (delicious) options.

"Outstanding product that should be better-known."
Pros: Stable, reliable, with wide-ranging and finely-grained functionality that works for many non-proprietory media players.
Cons: Learning curve at the outset but it pays off.
