With digital music files of all breeds floating around your hard drive, you need a good tag editor to keep things tidy. Tag&Rename fits the bill perfectly, with its multitude of features and support for MP3, WMA, OGG, and iTunes M4A files. In addition, it can write ID3v1 and ID3v2 formats, as well as add tags based on the filename. The interface of Tag&Rename looks a bit chaotic, but we warmed to it. We liked the integration with FreeDB.org and AllMusic.com services, which lets you download tag information for full albums. New users may look for something that's easier to use or opt for their players' built-in tag editors, but those with large collections or a variety of media types will fall in love with Tag&Rename.Publisher's description

Version: Tag&Rename 3.4.6
"Good renamer that I may end up owning."
Pros: But theres so many free alternatives that do what this does that I'll hold off on a purchase for now. This one however, is as easy as any I've tried so far with options that I havn't yet found in the free programs. Professional interface and I'd imagine good tech support if needed. It's offered through "Trial Pay" at this time so that may be the way to go.
Cons: When I uninstalled the program, I used Revo. I was surprised to see all the registry keys it added and or modified. Also the remaining files ibn it's program folder were many. I'm not saying this is bad at all, but this kind of addition / modification give me cause for concern after having so many issues with a Windows registry.

"Does everything you'd expect"
Pros: Excellent product for fixing up tags, making filenames and paths consistent.
I was able to fairly easilly..
- populate the tags from the filename.
- rename files based on tags
- move files into a artist/album/track_no - track_title
Cons: Interface and functions require a somewhat technical user.

"My ALL-TIME favorite tag editor"
Pros: I love the feature of getting album art and editing of many tag fields. I use this to build up my mp3 collection and to include much information for each song.
Cons: I only wish they could incorporate a "lyric search" so it can be written into the lyrics field in the tag. If they did this, I'd love this software EVEN MORE!

"THE BEST TAG EDITOR OUT THERE!"
Pros: I've tried all other tag editors but in the end I still come back to Tag&Rename. It does everything I ever need. And it's amazingly stable. I've never had it crash on me before. I LOVE THIS PROGRAM!
Cons: The only CON is that there's nothing I can find wrong about this software.

"SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! You want EASY CD-DA Extractor"
Pros: It does what it says, BUT download dot com is doing US a huge disservice by even having this program still up with it's great review! Easy CD-DA Extractor does ALL OF THIS and WAY WAY MORE for almost the same cost!
Cons: I BLEW $30 on this today... only to realize later in the same day that I should have got Easy CD-DA Extractor instead (or possibly Media Monkey). Buying this program is like buying a separate app to put periods at the end of sentences.
