Publisher's description
From TSW :TSW WebCoder 2005 suits each individual's needs and style when it comes to working with Web sites. The program allows you to organize your files in projects and to upload single pages or whole projects to FTP through the built-in FTP client. You will get all the help you need to write code, as WebCoder contains libraries with HTML, CSS, JS, VBS, PERL, and PHP tags; an AutoProposal function that will suggest PHP and CSS code as well as HTML tags, attributes, and values; and AutoComplete, which keeps you from wasting time writing end tags. You get help for keeping your code nice and clean from the HTML/CSS Tidy support and online validation through W3.org. WebCoder 2005 comes with loads of CSS and PHP features, including CSS Inspector/overview, PHP syntax check, and a real-time parser. WebCoder even features built-in scripting, which allows you to write functions for the program yourself or to download others and extend the way it's used.

Version: TSW WebCoder 2005
"From a recovering WYSIWYG user."
Pros: Just when I thought I was doing great writing CSS and (X)HTML with my WYSIWYG, it was time to graduate. My friend and mentor, CraniumAbuse, told me to check out WebCoder. He knows my skill level, and I trust him. I was a bit afraid to play with the 'big guys' tools; but all I can say is, "Wow!" Setting up WebCoder is a breeze. This program is so intuitive it seems to know just what I need at the moment, including pointing out my coding mistakes. I'm sure it will let me in on some of the secret handshake stuff when I'm ready. Everything I need is now at my fingertips - all in one program.
Cons: This isn't really a 'con', but WebCoder will let me get into files I'm not ready to handle. The nice thing is that I can see those files to explore and learn.

"I've tried them all, NOTHING compares to Webcoder!"
Pros: I've been doing web development for over 9 years, and because I'm extremely picky (my HTML editor MUST have EVERYTHING!) I can truthfully say I've tried 99% of HTML editors and pretty much all other web development programs as well. NONE of them come close to touching Webcoder.
It's functionality is amazing- the program is 100% customizable. Whenever I read any complaint about the program, I chuckle, because most of the time it is a simple customization issue that can be easily fixed by the end user.
What about the rest of the time? Well, sure, like any program there is the occasional bug. UNLIKE other programs though, the bug is fixed as soon as you report it! Amazing service and a developer that really cares about fixing bugs in the program is a HUGE bonus.
The program is no longer free, but I would much rather pay for it than have it not be actively developed. Paying for the level of customer interaction provided is a no-brainer.
Try Webcoder, you really won't be disappointed.
Cons: None, really.

"Very flexible, customizable interface, easy to adapt to, Excellent."
Pros: This product is arguably the finest (X)HTML editor available on the market today. A very customizable interface that is user friendly in every way. Powerful editing and control at your finger tips. For the newbie, novice, or seasoned pro, this app is certain to please.
New users will integrate seamlessly into the intuitive interface, and if not, customize it to fit your needs. Old users will enjoy added function and features from the last offering.
TSW has really outdone themselves this time. Very nice job, and Thanks !

"TSW WebCoder 2005: Suddenly Web Development became FUN again!"
Pros: WebCoder 2005 leads the HTML IDE by offering such intuitive development enhancements as the real-time PHP tree, which increases productivity as it monitors all PHP Variables, Functions, Classes, and Includes, making them available in the Auto-Complete. Its MySQL server connection also increases productivity by generating common MySQL statements such as database connection code, queries to extract table data, and even databound dropdown lists, including the HTML code for displaying those lists!
CSS developers will rejoice over the CSS goodies-- a pop-up context menu shows existing stylesheet selectors as soon as the user types the attribute into the HTML tag! WebCoder makes it almost too easy to customize the active CSS by way of the CSS pane-- just click on your custom ID or Class, find the appropriate Selector and pick a Declaration from a drop-down list, hit update, and 'presto'-- updated style!
WebCoder even allows the user to customize the GUI to such a degree that toolbars, panels, and even buttons can be added, moved, or removed in whatever configuration best fits the comfort of the user.
I have many Web Development IDE's, including expensive software offered by the industry's Dreamers, and I continue to go back to WebCoder for my development projects because of its ease of use and genuine attention to the needs of web developers. The more I use it, the more comfortable it feels, and because of the intuitive auto-complete functions, the robust attention to detail of the CSS panel, its customizable toolbars and moveable workspace, and the seamless, real-time PHP and MySQL integration, I can complete a PHP project in a fraction of the time it would take using any of my other, more well-known editors.
It's only a matter of time until WebCoder is caught by the discriminating eye of the mainstream development community-- at which time there will be a sigh of relief as developers worldwide will exclaim "Thank you TSW for the WebCoder, the PHP/ MySQL, CSS and HTML development tool I've been waiting for!"
Cons: This is the ONLY one, and the developer claims to have a fix under development-- when dragging and dropping and image into the code view, the img attributes, in an effort to maintain XHTML compliancy, cause all characters to become lower-case. I've had to rename a few jpgs when i discovered the problem of my missing images after upload. This is a MINOR issue when weighed against its many pros. i'd venture to say that there were likely many more bugs in earlier versions of perhaps even FrontPage or other HTML IDE's. So, in an effort to focus on adherance to the W3C's Web Standards, a very minute side-effect happened with the image attributes. big deal!
;)
