As with any machine, your PC needs regular tune-ups to maintain peak performance. This virtual toolbox can enhance the speed, safety, and power of your computer with a wide range of functions and an extensive help system.
System Mechanic performs cleanup, optimization, and privacy protection with equal agility. As with similar tune-up utilities, it enables you to clean up your registry, remove junk files, and customize hidden settings to improve performance. The app has additional tools for removing spyware and for defragmenting your hard drive, eliminating the need for multiple utility programs. There is an undo function that restores your system to its previous state, but its hidden in the SafetyNet tab and doesn't allow you to bring back one item at a time. The program also lacks a system profiler.
The bottom line, however, is that System Mechanic is one of the most complete, effective, and easy-to-use tune-up utilities we've seen to date.

"Slowed system down to unusable.Support gave runaround."

Version: System Mechanic 8.5.5
Pros: it used to be a great application when version 6 was available.
Cons: It will not let you use older versions you already paid for, will force you to buy the new one and pay the regular suscription, lucky if you can ever cancel that, they will keep sucking money from your credit card.
Summary: Other applications, a lot slimmer than this gigantic one will do the same job for free.
Worthless waste of money. -
Version: System Mechanic 8.5.5
"difficult to cancel automatic charge your credit card"
Pros: register Defragment is ok
Cons: iolo should not extend subscription and charge your credit card automatically. Cancellation process is very complicated. If I were you, I will not try this. There is some other choice in the market that will not charge your credit card automatically.
Summary: The tuning function is the same since V4. There is not function improvement or enhancement. And never use the ActiveCare or otherwise you might need to reinstall your system.

Version: System Mechanic 8.5.5
"This is an easy to use comprehensive tool"
Pros: It's easy to use, runs by itself, and does a complete job.
Cons: It would be nice to know the lenght of the subscription and the expiration date.
Summary: Upon expiration of my PC manufacturer's tune-up S/W, I searched for a replacement tune-up tool and found System Mechanic. I was concerned that any new tool may be dificult to load and use, however after testing a free subscription , I learned that ... read more >>
