"There's better programs out there!!!"

None that i could see.

it slowed down my computer, it erased all my desktop icons, half the programs on my computer stopped working (lucky that my system restore point worked or i would of had to reinstall my OS from scratch)
Summary
this is a bad program, i don't recommend it to no one. Norton utilities (39.99$) or ccleaner (free) are very good programs that actually work and make a very noticeable difference.. go with one of those and your computer will be happy (just like mine, i promise) :)

Menu is confusing if you want to do more than use the main scan and repair feature. More details on problems would be nice

Easy to set up and configure. The main tool of System Mechanic is easy to access on the main screen allowing you to run an analysis whenever you feel it?s necessary, also you can easily repair all detected problems or choose what problems to fix individually. The best feature in this version of System Mechanic is the improved Activecare that has had its configuration options greatly improved. They have provided many options on how to schedule active care to run in the background, such as only between certain hours, or not to run if processor use is over a certain percentage. And best of all it does not use any system resources when running silently in the background. It?s also a great value because it can run on 3 pcs with one licence. So I am able to run it on the other 2 pcs I take care of for my less computer savvy family members and it keeps their registries clean and temp files from overflowing without me having to check on them every week. As an added bonus it provides an assortment of tools to see your computers health like the hard drive status monitor I just found today. That brings me to System Mechanics only downside, many of the tools are buried in the menus and hard to find plus many details of what it finds in the scans are difficult to see unless you run that categories separate utility that goes more in depth on findings. But if you are willing to put some effort into digging through the menus there are lots of interesting utilities bundled in. Overall I think it?s a great value for the cost and am happy they brought all these features together into one utility and allow you to have it run silently in the background and forget about it.

One click operation is the fantastic. You can set it to do the tasks auto or manual saving a lot of time.
Cons
It can be confusing. For example I've used SM for many years and still do not know how to use the duplicate file operation.
Summary
This program has change drastically over the years. The speed of digging more memory out, cleaning files, as well as the registry and safety have improved. Speed is the most noticeable changes over the years I have seen in performing various tasks. Now, if I could just figure out that blessed duplicate file part, I would be a happy camper.

Everything! DiskScrubber will really delete the files that you thought you have delete and speed up you system but make sure you have good back-ups of photos and files (CDs). S & R is a charm! Son acc. deleted field trip photos on SD Card. Got back

I bought the software. Emailed them because when you would restart computer it would not restart because of the firewall. 2 weeks before they told me they were working on it and in another 2 weeks they emailed me and said they had an update that would fix it. I fixed it in the first week after emailing them. Thats why i gave it 4 Stars instead of 5. There is really no 5 Star software that I have seen.

It will fix registry errors, and clean up junk.

I upgraded to 8.5 thinking it could only get better.. and it didn't. The previous versions were much better. It took out my AVG firewall, and the newer version does not have the pop up blocker, which was one of my fav features.

I does clean up your computer, but it may consider other programs, like AVG, junk, and it damages them. Get it on Ebay, so you're not wasting too much of your money.

Cons
Sometimes, my computer won't respond, but that's because it's running a deep scan. Wait a minute or two.. and I'm back on and ready to rock and roll.

This program is absolutely the best there is. I highly recommend it. For 40 dollars, I can keep my computer nice and running for three years. It's a wonderful program. Simple, and easy to use.

"Best Software for fixing your slow computer"

It is so easy to use and very effective on fixing alot of common problems that slow down your computer. I have looked at a lot of software and none have worked as well as this one.

So far I can not find anything I don't like about it.

This is the best software I have found for fixing my old computer. There is nothing I have found that I don't like . It is very easy to understand and use , it is very effective and I learned a lot about what was slowing down my computer. We were so frustrated with our computer that we were going to buy a new one , but I went and downloaded the trail software and was so impressed that I ordered it right away . And now my computer runs like new. Thank You Iolo for System Mechanic.!!!
