As with any machine, your PC needs regular tune-ups to maintain peak performance. This virtual toolbox can enhance the speed, safety, and power of your computer with a wide range of functions and an extensive help system.
System Mechanic performs cleanup, optimization, and privacy protection with equal agility. As with similar tune-up utilities, it enables you to clean up your registry, remove junk files, and customize hidden settings to improve performance. The app has additional tools for removing spyware and for defragmenting your hard drive, eliminating the need for multiple utility programs. There is an undo function that restores your system to its previous state, but its hidden in the SafetyNet tab and doesn't allow you to bring back one item at a time. The program also lacks a system profiler.
The bottom line, however, is that System Mechanic is one of the most complete, effective, and easy-to-use tune-up utilities we've seen to date.

Version: System Mechanic 8.5.2
Pros: The scanning of your system is very fast. It identifies many problems and possible factors that causes crashes and slow- downs. You can use it for 30 days.
Cons: There are many reminders at the top and bottom for you to buy the product. A note on the bottom tells you that if you buy it now it costs 20 dollars, when it is supposedly 50 dollars. It says that the $20 deal expires at midnight. This seems a little shady to me. Why don't they just say it costs $20 instead of $50?

Version: System Mechanic 8.5.2
"Good in ways, bad in others..."
Pros: A good tool to help keep systems clean. Helpful at stopping start-up items, and removing badware...
Cons: It regularly tries to say it can't find an active firewall (totally bogus upsell attempt to their own security solutions). Also, it claims to find non-existent things like keyloggers...also trying to upsell to its Spython product. Dishonest Engineering/Marketing.

Version: System Mechanic 8.5.2
"One great program that works..."
Pros: I installed System Mechanic on my comp with Windows XP and from day 1 it cleaned out all the junk and clutter that I didn't really know I had. It made my comp faster; and I didn't know that I had 1.42gb of restore points that I could clean. It does its job quietly and quickly and is must have for people like me who just got their first computer at the age of 50. It is much better than Tune Up Utilities 2008 and much easier to use. Again a must have app for amatuers and comp buffs alike....
Cons: The only flaw I could really say is that it asks for a restart after every time it repairs more than 1 problem but I can live with that quirk...
