As with any machine, your PC needs regular tune-ups to maintain peak performance. This virtual toolbox can enhance the speed, safety, and power of your computer with a wide range of functions and an extensive help system.
System Mechanic performs cleanup, optimization, and privacy protection with equal agility. As with similar tune-up utilities, it enables you to clean up your registry, remove junk files, and customize hidden settings to improve performance. The app has additional tools for removing spyware and for defragmenting your hard drive, eliminating the need for multiple utility programs. There is an undo function that restores your system to its previous state, but its hidden in the SafetyNet tab and doesn't allow you to bring back one item at a time. The program also lacks a system profiler.
The bottom line, however, is that System Mechanic is one of the most complete, effective, and easy-to-use tune-up utilities we've seen to date.

From iolo Technologies :Make your old PC run like new. Keep your new PC running fast and problem-free. System Mechanic improves performance, repairs drive errors, eliminates crashes, manages applications, and defends against malware. Without regular "tune ups," all computers slow down with use. The world's top selling PC tune-up software replaces dozens of less powerful utilities, offering total PC care in a single integrated package. System Mechanic runs automatically, intelligently cleaning and tuning your entire PC. Or you can launch select tools in the software whenever you think your system may need a boost. Version: System Mechanic 7.5.5.1
"Highly intrusive and not much different than other products"
Pros: It's great to have a program that does almost everything in a few clicks or have them all in one program. I used to like this product, but now I dislike it.
Cons: It's cluttered, bundled, bloated, and slow. First, it's very heavy on your system resources. It uses a lot of memory, RAM, takes up a lot of hard drive space, takes a while to do cleaning, scanning, wiping, etc. Interface is terrible, with almost junk everywhere, it's like you don't know where to look. I got a headache from this product and the way it is setup. It doesn't do anything different that cheaper or even free products do like Ace Utilities or TuneUp Utilities, and it doesn't clean better than CCleaner. At least those are not as intrusive as System Mechanic.

Cons: Like all programs this needs imput and is HARD to give and we would like to ask question and that is hard too!!!

Version: System Mechanic 7.5.5.1
Pros: nothing positive about this! I tested this program on a brand new vista laptop (vista updated and patched) I purchased yesterday. Read results below:
Cons: okay, let me start off by saying that i was once a fan of this program but version 7 is complete garbage. It deletes very important dll's when it "cleans" your system which in turn makes for a very unstable operating system. It's internet tuner actually makes broadband connections slower. And I question it's ability to fix so called "security vulnerabilities". You really need to look elsewhere if you are needing a solid all around app. Try Ace Utilities, Ashampoo WinOptimizer ,or Tuneup Utilities 2008. The only good program that Iolo makes is DriveScrubber.

Version: System Mechanic 7.5.5.1
Pros: Nothing I liked about this program, it includes ton of useless features!
Cons: 1-the program is too heavy on PC (how a maintenance program being heavy on pc!!)
2-The had disk defragger is very bad, Auslogics do a greater job.
3-The hard disk free space wipe take much longer time to complete.
4-The support is a joke!....the most maintenace programs is the same!
