As with any machine, your PC needs regular tune-ups to maintain peak performance. This virtual toolbox can enhance the speed, safety, and power of your computer with a wide range of functions and an extensive help system.
System Mechanic performs cleanup, optimization, and privacy protection with equal agility. As with similar tune-up utilities, it enables you to clean up your registry, remove junk files, and customize hidden settings to improve performance. The app has additional tools for removing spyware and for defragmenting your hard drive, eliminating the need for multiple utility programs. There is an undo function that restores your system to its previous state, but its hidden in the SafetyNet tab and doesn't allow you to bring back one item at a time. The program also lacks a system profiler.
The bottom line, however, is that System Mechanic is one of the most complete, effective, and easy-to-use tune-up utilities we've seen to date.

Version: System Mechanic 7.1.15.10
"Not as good as the old version!"
Pros: It cleans your pc.
Cons: I have to admit they made a very big change compared to the previous versions. The first thing is that this program is quite big in size, and it uses a lot of memory. The current version is also very cloggy when starting it up and the interface is messy. If I were you, I'd use System Mechanic 6, you can see the different between 6 and version 7.

Pros: bought with deal after rebate on buy.com and works great on xp os. Upper rt corner has extra features you select and repair specific areas to help comp.
More than registry cleaner, cleans memory, optimize internet settings, etc.
Cons: Doesnt tell you the actual detail of fix but have to trust it is fixing it. Also puts virus on comp found by my av that I allowed , trojan.generic, I see it is related to sm.
not sure if vista ready.
