As with any machine, your PC needs regular tune-ups to maintain peak performance. This virtual toolbox can enhance the speed, safety, and power of your computer with a wide range of functions and an extensive help system.
System Mechanic performs cleanup, optimization, and privacy protection with equal agility. As with similar tune-up utilities, it enables you to clean up your registry, remove junk files, and customize hidden settings to improve performance. The app has additional tools for removing spyware and for defragmenting your hard drive, eliminating the need for multiple utility programs. There is an undo function that restores your system to its previous state, but its hidden in the SafetyNet tab and doesn't allow you to bring back one item at a time. The program also lacks a system profiler.
The bottom line, however, is that System Mechanic is one of the most complete, effective, and easy-to-use tune-up utilities we've seen to date.

Version: System Mechanic 7.0.4
Pros: none there are other product out there that will do the same thing for free and they dont crash the pc
Cons: I had system mechanic 5 and 6 with no problems. This new one crashed my computer after running total care pc optimization. I uninstalled it and everything was fine. I thought I would give it a second chance and reinstalled the program same thing again. Now after uninstalling it again my pc is ok.

Version: System Mechanic 7.0.4
Pros: This program has really much functions, registry and delete tools are very good but read Cons
Cons: It has really much functions but I just don't trust everything it says, it says I don't have firewall and antivirus but I have.
It also says that I have 15 security problems but I don't want to change anything, I just can't trust this program because it wants to change important and sensitive system settings

"Firewall blocks ports that cannot be changed"
Pros: System Mechanic itself is a really great program. It is great for a one button fix of Windows issues, speed, etc.
Cons: The pro version includes a firewall and antivirus program. The firewall is blocking ports but you are unable to change the settings. The most disturbing is port 995 which is for GMail download to an email program. If you manually try to add this port, you receive an error that the port is in use with POP3S, but if you attempt to find POP3S in the list of ports, nothing shows up. To download email from this port (or other ports that the firewall blocks) you need to disable the firewall to do so.
Iolo technical support is extremely slow in responding. On average it takes 24-48 hours to receive a response from technical support and their knowledgebase, which they recommend you use, is very outdated and doesn't apply to new versions of their software.
