As with any machine, your PC needs regular tune-ups to maintain peak performance. This virtual toolbox can enhance the speed, safety, and power of your computer with a wide range of functions and an extensive help system.
System Mechanic performs cleanup, optimization, and privacy protection with equal agility. As with similar tune-up utilities, it enables you to clean up your registry, remove junk files, and customize hidden settings to improve performance. The app has additional tools for removing spyware and for defragmenting your hard drive, eliminating the need for multiple utility programs. There is an undo function that restores your system to its previous state, but its hidden in the SafetyNet tab and doesn't allow you to bring back one item at a time. The program also lacks a system profiler.
The bottom line, however, is that System Mechanic is one of the most complete, effective, and easy-to-use tune-up utilities we've seen to date.

"worth maybe $20 for an old memory challenged/problematic computer"
Pros: this product combines many useful features into one product, including a spyware scan (more complete than its competitor's advanced system optimizer from systweak); a memory mechanic and manage runing program features that can guide you in stopping unneeded memory hogs; easy to use total p.c. care and common features like registry & shortcut repair.
Cons: many features would not be necessary by simply using available free programs including windows disk defragmenter, internet sweeper for debris cleanup or commonly available free spyware scans like windows defender or ad-adware; buying 1g rather than 526mb of ram on next machine can avoid memory usage issues for most users; also i was unable to load spyware definitions once, wrote their customer service and they never replied-i figured out the problem and fixed it myself by deleting the old definitions and reinstalling; also the fix security vulnerabilities will find some window's registry entries which can only be changed in safe mode or not at all; and it took some time to learn and adjust the program to fit my needs

Pros: It is like tune up utilities only a bit worse. It does all sorts of things to speed up your computer.You can also download the professional edition that includes firewall and anti virus ( Kapersky) Which is a plus. But I would not recommend the professional edition cause the normal edition is so much better. Try this software if you can it might help speed up your computer and internet speeds.
Cons: The anti spyware software known as spython was very bad. It found spyware, but wouldn't tell me where or what it found. That's one of the reasons it got a 3.

Pros: This program is so easy. I haven't had any trouble using it and it does exactly what I want it to do. It is a vital tool in keeping my computer safe, fast and in great working condition. Thumbs up Iolo!

"Great Program, but has minor flaws"
Pros: My Hardrive was playing up and saying files were corrupt, i ran this program and all the tools and that problem is gone. My computer is also alot faster then before. It has lots of tools to offer to optimize your computers performace which is very good :)
Cons: When doing the scans it sometimes sticks/or is taking a long time at the same %. Everytime i run the shortcut repairer it just sit's at 0%. After running everything i decided to run ad-aware. It found 2 vulnerabilities in the registry, so if you get this program do some ad-aware scans and everything should be fine.

"good program except for their Internet Optimizer"
Pros: does a good job cleaning your system
Cons: Internet Optimizer is worthless if you have a connection higher than DSL. It nearly cut my Cable modem speed in half. And when I reversed the changes the program made, my speed went back up to where it was before I "optimized" with System Mechanic.
