Pros
A open-ended frame-work for realizing your musical ideas in a way not tied down with physical performance or DAW work-flow limitations. About structure rather than actual performance. A both serious and fun tool.
Cons
Not for the feint of heart. Learning this huge system is a major undertaking and the concepts and tools involved are not always easy to grasp. Unless already comfortable with (LISP) programming you'll need to invest time in learning. MIDI output only
