"This is a trojan horse. Do not use it."
Version: Switch 1.30
Cons
Worked great until my dvd drive stalled. Ran Avast and found it had infected my hard drive with a trojan horse. How do I rate it 0 stars?

"Not bad...lots of extra programs"
Version: Switch 1.30
Pros
I downloaded this solely for converting wma to mp3. It does this with most of the standard options found on other converters. When Converting I lost all tag information from the original files (i.e. album art, release year, artist, album) and the output destination could use a little work. For the task I needed it did work in windows 2000 pro.
On the other hand I went with the full install and ended up with a birage of about 7 programs that installed and started then required a restart. Undaunted, I opted out of the offers to automatically restart and closed down the new programs one of which hadn?t finished installing (if I had restarted when prompted I may have run into issues). I restarted, then I checked out my programs menu under Start. I found all 7 or so programs in their own folders and another folder marked? audio related ? which provided ?on-demand ? download and instillation, That folder contained at least 10 other programs ready for the ?on-demand? install. I tried a word to voice converter and for a free tool who?s type I?d never tried before it was pretty cool and provided about a half hour of amusement as I played with the program. I also tried a video encoder and was less than impressed with it after about 5 min of playing but to be fair I didn?t even try tweaking any settings so who knows.
Lastly before my initial install I ran Antivir over it and it checked clean. After installing the initial programs and a few ?on-demand? programs I ran a full system scan using Antivir again it turned up nothing. I still want to run a few anti-spyware scans before I dub this product maleware-free. If those scans come up with anything significant, I will post back.
Cons
Lots of extra programs and even more if you explore the programs folders in the start menu. Of the 5 programs I used (out of about 20 available) 2 came up in the system tray on my next restart. An easy enough fix, the option to enable automatic start-up was right in the options menu when you start the program in full.
