This standard pop-up blocker installs in a matter of seconds and launches on the desktop right away. Before starting its work, Sureshot PopUp Killer asks you to customize it. You can pick the sound it issues when blocking a pop-up. The Aggressive mode blocks just about all advertising windows. However, it also blocks the quick-launch button of Internet Explorer as well as links that you've clicked on to generate new windows. You can override these blocks by holding the Ctrl key when you click a link. Moreover, the software doesn't really keep pop-up windows from launching; it just closes them when they try to open on your desktop. Summary
I honestly thought I would never get rid of pop ups but now I never see them. The only draw back is having to temporarily disable it just to get on to the internet or to click on certain links but that's a small price to pay.

I tested out SureShot on XP and found it to cause IE to shut down when multiple popups were encountered. I have found other similar products to be as effective without the instability.

I admit. Since I've installed the program, I haven't had one pop up - the problem is, that it is a little TOO agressive. I would appreciate a feature where it accepts all popups from a certain site, or will not close popups that you set should not be closed. Its good at what it does, but there should be more control on when and what popups it closes. I'm gonna keep looking.
