"An Excellent Anti-Spyware program."

Pros
Easy to use and easy on system resources. Will often catch stuff the other programs miss - and, it plays well with others .
Cons
None so far - never had any problems with it.
Summary
One of several good ant-spyware programs out there - since they usually take different approaches , I keep several around and this one has proven itself effective. It's a keeper !

"An unsatisfactory experience, I learned nothing from it"

I installed it and let it get on with a scan, no problem with that
Cons
Scan result said I had 1 adware/tracking cookie & 7 rogue components, but button "Explain detected items" gave vague and ambiguous answers which left me totally unsure whether I should remove them or leave them.
Summary
For adware it said "This application may not be safe to have on your system" but goes on to say the cookie may be safe if it belongs to a login, & "You may wish to trust cookies detected by SAS if they bnelong to sites you trust." So how could I tell if I could trust it or not, if it didn't tell me?
As for the 7 rogue components, the only details for each of these were exactly the same: "Unclassified item, we are currently researching this item to provide more updated information."
So, I decided to let well alone, if it ain't broke don't fix it, but when I tried to quit the program a popup said "There are still dangerous items on your system." I ignored this and hit Finish, but it went ahead and quarantined the items even though I hadn't expressly asked it to.
As soon as I've submitted this review, I am going to uninstall SAS. -

Pros
Free. I've had it find malware. I don't think I've had it find false positives. Free version is worth having as a back-up scanner. I use it at least once a week. Inexpensive upgrade(I haven't tried it).
'Cons
Slow update. In start-up and I remove it(that's what winpatrol is for). Slower scan than some. Fairly large program.
Summary
Good software. Team it up with malwarebytes, One day I will upgrade.

Pros
The first time through, this program caught 800+ items on my home computer. I felt horrified. I use CA and Windows Defender all the time, and will continue to use them; but, my power play now is SuperAntiSpyware. It was easy to download and run.
Cons
I don't know of any down side to this program.

"Was the only one to fix "AntiVira-Av" trojan"

This was the last of the five utilities that I "threw at" this fake-security-program malware (that locks out exe files, subverts the browser, etc); it should have been the first...it, alone, quarantined the bad code.
Cons
It would have been a bit handier to deploy as a single / portable .exe; as it happened, the two steps of installing forced more workarounds with this virus - - but not at all insurmountable.
Summary
Lesson-learned; I now BEGIN with S.A.S., and only in the unlikely event that something gets past it - doubtful - would I bother with the others...even as trustworthy as MalwareBytes. This one is a winner.

"Solid product"

Been using this for more than a year. Its reliable with frequent database updates. It has found and fixed problems for me, that other programs missed or had not yet been updated to detect..
Cons
Free version only runs manually, no ability to schedule scans and no real time protection.
Summary
Good product, finds problems and eliminates them.

None so far - I trust this will always remain so.
Cons
Excellent product - does what it says on the tin! Has proved better than other anti spy ware programmes that cost a lot of money and was unable to "clean" my computer to the same level as cnet.

You would have to travel far to find a better programme - especially for a non techie like myself..

Pros
It got rid of trojan security shield that others would not touch. Not Panda Could, not Windows Defender not AVAST not AVG. Updates great and fast.
Cons
It takes a long long time 9 hours on my old slow computer.
