SugarSync Desktop offers a complete, but sufficiently compact desktop manager for viewing and arranging the multimedia files that will be stored online as part of the SugarSync service to be retrieved via the SugarSync client on a Mac, other Windows laptops, a BlackBerry or Windows Mobile phone, or from your personal Web address from any other Web-friendly device.
SugarSync gets high ratings for its ease of use, reliability, and above all, its speed. There are nice extra features, like the Magic Briefcase that house on all platforms and devices the content you drop into it, and a quick link to your personal Web site. A search field would not go amiss, especially if you're not certain of your file's location and haven't had the foresight to include your file into the briefcase. Despite that, this service makes mincemeat of many competitors in the remote access space for its ability to monitor multiple computers and platforms with little fuss.

"It sucks. Made my computer run so slow so I got rid of it."
Cons: It made my computer run so slow that I had to remove it off here.

Version: SugarSync Manager 1.1.8
"Perfect for teachers who like to take their work home!"
Pros: It automatically updates the file on any other computer where the same file is found. This keeps me from making several sloppy copies of what should be a finished product. Also, I never have to race back home to grab the flash drive I forgot.
Cons: With the free setup, there's very little room for fun stuff. Music and pictures just won't fit, or they take too long to load.
Summary: As a teacher, I can't count how many times I've had to e-mail something to myself because I can't find my flash drive, or because I've left it in a school computer. With sugarsync, I never worry about if I have the file. I always use either my hom... read more >>

Version: SugarSync Manager 1.1.8
"A few hiccups, but still excellent"
Pros: free base plan, works with my Storm and multiple computers, can access your files via the web without having the manager installed,(pc must have appropriate file viewer though)
Cons: servers occasionally go down, upload speeds aren't the fastest on the free plan,
Summary: for the price, it doesn't get much better than this. Works great for syncing my word documents across my pcs/phones.

Version: SugarSync Manager 1.1.8
"Great way to backup and sync multiple computers."
Pros: Able to sync MAC, XP, and VIsta computers able to access important documents no matter what system I am using. Creates backups in the cloud and able to access documents in the cloud from the sugarsync portal as well.
Cons: Haven't had any problems, haven't tried the blackberry piece.
Summary: Think it is the best online backup sync product I have tried the only one I was willing to pay for. Used it mostly so I could sync multiple computers so I would work in windows or Mac when ever I want and have access to documents on both. Nice sid... read more >>
