Though the sheer number of icons and menu items may initially overwhelm newbies, this photo editor's handsome interface is convenient for editing several photos at once. StudioLine Photo Basic applies your operations immediately to any number of images.
After you're done editing, you can lock the changes and apply them to other photos later. The program maintains the original image in an archive and records any adjustments or enhancements. Keeping the original safe frees you to resize, crop, perform color correction, and visually balance image quality and size. For easy image sharing, you can create attachments, optimize them for e-mail, and pass them to mail applications. You also can publish your images as a Web gallery.
All in all, StudioLine Photo Basic seems like a worthy pick for both newbie Web designers and more experienced photographers.

Version: StudioLine Photo Basic 3.5.4
Pros: Lots of tools
Cons: This looks like a good program, but for those of you who are security conscious it may be interesting for you to know that this program automatically changes the firewall policy on the computer it's installed onto. It gives itself access to certain ports for TCP & UDP communications. It probably does this in order to provide services from its website but to do this behind your back is an exceptional intrusion and an incredible security risk. If you want to block this activity from ever compromising your system, go to the below keys and delete them; I did and the program works for what I need it for without any problems.
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\StandardProfile\GloballyOpenPorts\List\\137:UDP

"Not Free as Advertised. 30 Days use Only unless you buy & not soo easy to use it"
Pros: Lot of tools for editing and multitasking features, but you must be expert to use it.
Cons: It is definitely not Free as it appears on the program description. After installation, when you start this program you will get a 30 day time window frame to remind you that you now have this many days left before activation and only way you could put the activation code is to purchase one. Don't waste your time downloading this program. It took me 16 minutes to download with DSL and also not as easy to use as described unless you're pro with photo editing software.

"Nice Features, Attractive Interface, Fairly Intuitive"
Pros: Contrary to what several "reviewers" have said, the program actually IS free. When it asks you to activate, simply enter your email address and the publisher emails a free, non-expiring activation code.
So with that out of the way, the program includes a very large assortment of editing tools and features. Visually, the user interface is modern, uncluttered, and attractive. That said, the mechanics of the application are somewhat unconventional (versus similar programs) however the procedures are easy to master for users of any skill level. If you're in the market for a digital photo editor and don't need the depth (and complexity) of programs like Photoshop Elements or PhotoImpact, this is definitely worthy of consideration.

"High Def Picture Album is better"
Pros: It is o'kay but not comprehensive or easy to use.
Cons: High Def Picture Album right here at download.com is much better and it is free.
