From Streamripper :StreamRipper allows you to capture audio data being streamed by Shoutcast and other Internet radio broadcast servers that use the MP3 format. StreamRipper captures the actual file-data itself, ensuring a clean recording unhampered by network slowdowns and other tranfer-related problems. You can save each broadcast in MP3 format--complete with any ID3 tags and other file information--as a single file, or command StreamRipper to save each track as a separate MP3 file. This edition of StreamRipper32 offers all the functionality of Streamripper for Winamp, but operates as a standalone application.

Cons: "Rough around the edges" is being generous. Couldn't even get it to install properly.

"Works fantastically for ripping shoutcast streams"
Pros: I liked that the songs were separated and both the artist and the song title were included in the file name. Also the album art was very useful.
Cons: StreamRipper can not be used to rip any of several online free music sources that play music directly.

Pros: not needed
Cons: I've got up to 10mbps and have never listened to streaming audio without getting skips in the stream. Don't know why, I've tweeked with DSLreports and various tweek programs and no luck yet with CLEAN streaming! To use the internet for music or video to me is crazy until it get much better at streaming. Just my experience. Any help would be great!
