Unlike other safety suites, Steganos Security Suite 2006 does not contain antiviral, antispam, or antispyware tools. Rather, it gives you numerous tools for securing the data on your hard drive and wiping out data. You can encrypt an entire 256GB drive and render it invisible. The Shredder module uses several secure algorithms to destroy data, while The Internet Trace Destructor removes the recent browser history, desktop traces, and usage history from many third-party applications. We particularly like the ability to quickly burn encrypted files onto a CD or a DVD, as well as the excellent e-mail encryption tools. The AntiTheft can help assist you in locating your laptop should someone pilfer it. Right-clicking the suite's system-tray icon lets you load any of the program's dozen modules without loading the entire suite. The password manager tracks and encrypts passwords and can automatically enter passwords on Web sites. Any user concerned with privacy should strongly consider adding this versatile, feature-packed application to his or her security toolkit.Publisher's description

Version: Steganos Security Suite 2006 8.0.1
Pros: It has a great tracks eraser browsing history gone for good. Cool anti theft feature. I'm hoping 30 day trial will be long enough to fully test this software. At present seems stable enough even after downloading the update.
Cons: Don't know if I will buy it as all software in UK seems to be more expensive than anywhere else. Windows Desktop Search does not get on with this program.

Pros: Simple, easy to use, pleasing to the eye and above all, powerful. These words sum up everything about the Steganos Security Suite.
The best product I have found of its kind, it makes encrypting files, cleaning internet trcaes and thouroughly deleting files a breeze - it literaly does it all in front of your eyes. What's more, it does it with a clean easily navigatable interface that lets you quickly get to what you want.
A truly great product.
Cons: The only problem with the software is it is quite resource heavy, especially when the interface is being viewed. This is OK on more modern computers, but on slightly older ones it is sometimes best to close it when you're done and just re-run it when you need to.

"A strong product, one that everyone should have!"
Pros: I have been using this product (in its various forms for 3 years now).
The biggest pro is the shredder - I have used to shred data when selling my older PC's and wanting to ensure my data cannot be recovered and used by any person. Does what it says .....data destruction supreme.
The second pro in this suite would be the Internet trace destruct. Gets rid of all those nasty remanant left after Windows IE has travelled the net.
Have only recently tried the encyption aspects of the suite and they seem to do the trick.
Password manager is a solid tool for not only storing your passwords, but providing or testing your chosen passwords ensuring that they are as secure as can be.
Cons: Previous version became a little unstable after a number of updates.
The memory resident portion of the programme can be a tad bulky and slow the system up.

Pros: Easy to use,many features, support for Firefox and Opera,uses AES256,uses Guttman method to destroy tracks,tracks stolen laptops (emails police when on the internet)
Cons: Graphical interface could have a low RAM option, not everyone has the latest hardware.

Cons: Disappointed with Steganos lousy cumstomer support which never responded to my e-mails.
