Star Wars fans and seasoned gamers of every stripe will fall in love with Star Wars Republic Commando. We strongly recommend this first-person shooter, but be warned: it may devour hours of your time. As the leader of a Republic Commando squad tasked with freeing a Wookie, you'll face multiple challenges that will test your brain, your gaming skills, and your reaction time. We tried the demo's one scenario and were deeply impressed with the vivid sound, colorful textures, realistic physics, and detailed rendering of characters, constructions, landscapes, and vehicles. Multiplayer capabilities make the game even more attractive. Squad control is Republic Commando's most distinctive feature. To succeed, you'll have to use your squad members' unique abilities. Luckily, the game's one-button interface makes controlling your team more a pleasure than a chore. Make sure your PC is reasonably fast, with a modern 3D graphics card. You'll need some serious horsepower to experience all the thrills Star Wars Republic Commando has to offer.

As the leader you must operate your squad as a single unit, utilizing each of your troops' abilities to fit the situation. Think fast and keep your Blaster Rifle close by, because you're heading behind Clone War enemy lines.

This game is a good all around first person shooter game. The action is good and the Commandos are cool. The AI is pretty good for a game that can run on Win2k.

I love this game the graphics are superb and the gameplay is amazing. Its definetely a must bye for all star wars fans. Its a totally new level of star wars nothing like battlefront of lego its completely different. Your in charge of an elite squardon of clone commandos.

(First of all, I'll be reviewing the general full game, but it applies to the demo as well)
Gamplay: Combat is overall great, with a few negative points (see cons). There are some thinking spots, but for the most part this is a straight up FPS. The game has a great squad concept. It encourages tactics because if any member of the squad survives, they all can be revived by him. Combat is overall great, with a few negative points (see cons).
Graphics: Levels appear lush and varied, and while the graphics may not be ultra-end, they are quite good. Enemies and friendlies are all beautifully animated, and it's easy to get sucked in to the frenzied pace of combat.
Sound: The sounds are quite good for this game, with lots of voice casting and general combat effects.
Cons
Gameplay: The game is almost entirely linear, with the few branch-offs mainly leading to weapon caches. The game is best played in spurts, as there is a whole lot of actual content variation between maps (although they all look unique). Encounters start to get repetitive as they drag on, and the theme of "room to room combat" is overused.
Graphics: Nothing I can really criticize about the graphics, the immersion is great and the game ran beautifully.
Sound: Again, nothing wrong with the audio here.
Overall: Repetitive combat against familiar enemies is a weak point, but certain levels break the monotony. Overall a great game, but it could have been better.
