SpywareBlaster doesn't scan and clean for spyware--it prevents it from ever being installed. SpywareBlaster blocks the installation of spyware ActiveX controls (such as Lop.com and Xupiter) in its database, and can even prevent them from running if they are installed. The built-in Check for Updates feature allows quick and easy database updates, which are released frequently. Information on all spyware covered in the database is also provided. SpywareBlaster does not need to be running in the background--simply select the items you wish to be protected against (or select all items) and press the Protect button to enable protection. SpywareBlaster can also block spyware and tracking cookies. It includes a System Snapshot feature, which lets you take a snapshot of your computer in its clean state and later revert, undoing many changes made by spyware and browser hijackers.
The latest version includes Mozilla 1.7x and Firefox 0.9x support, as well as other important performance enhancements.

As the saying goes "Prevention is better than a cure." Most antispyware tools today clean up your system of spyware but this product prevents it from being installed in the first place! So the people at javacool should be commeneded for being the first(it is the first right?)to come up with a product than prevents instead of cleans.
Cons
Nothing about the product but the website is a little mixed up. I tried to update to the latest version which is SpywareBlaster 3.3 but the links at the website is really confusing. Other than that i haven't encountered any problems at all.

spyware blaster makes my spyware scans with other products uneventful and boring...just the way i like it...spyware blaster stops spyware at the door...before it can plant itself in my computer...this is an essential product for those who don't want to think about spyware blocking...spyware blaster just does it...simple and easy...great product!

Uses the IE forbid lists instead of creating its own. So the resources used are less.
It's very simple to use and has a easy GUI with the perfect shortcuts (enable/disable all protection & check update), that's what you need.
Supports IE and Mozilla/Firefox.
I use it with SpyBot S&D and my computer is totally free of spyware, I recommend you this 2-program team.
Cons
Its update feature is not automatic, you must check for updates to get the latest protection. But... it's not a big problem, just keep in mind to update SpywareBlaster. It's as simple as two clicks.

Free, low maintenance, works...what's not to like? This product simply makes a great addition to any anti-spyware arsenal. Once you've downloaded it and set the rules, the only attention necessary is to occasionally check for and download the latest definition updates...that's it! This program doesn't scan, but is constant protecton as it runs quietly in the background. It's very effective also, since downloading it I've noticed that scans with other spyware detection programs don't show anywhere near the number of items that they used to. It's truly a great addition for anyone who is serious about fighting spyware, is free, and combined with Spyware Doctor and Ad-Aware is really all the protection necessary to keep your PC clean and help set your mind at ease.
