If you're looking for a solid and free application for keeping spyware and adware away from your system, SpyCatcher Express is a good choice. A slick and refined tabbed interface makes it easy to explore the different areas of protection that SpyCatcher Express covers, and each area offers options for more or less protection at your designation. The program lets you set levels of protection from low (the program will ask whether you want questionable programs to run) to high (no unknown programs will be allowed to run).
We like the ability to choose between quick and deep scans depending on whether we believe the system to be badly infected or if we just need a quick reassurance after some questionable behavior. However, even the deep scans are relatively fast compared with the competition. One thing to keep in mind is that you'll need to update often with this free version--one of the main perks of the paid version is the automatic updates. Overall, we think SpyCatcher Express is a great addition to your antispyware arsenal with added extras that make the battle against spyware more efficient and painless.

Version: SpyCatcher Express 5.1
"An in depth effective spyware eliminator."
Pros: It often detects spyware that other methods fail to notice.
Cons: I dont notice any improvement in the detection rate compared with the previous version. Also, this 5.1 version is more complex in its settings than before.
Summary: For a freebie, its worth having.

Pros: regular updates, resident shield, quick scanner, cool interface, free.
Cons: very buggy, cpu heavy, dosent store settings.
Summary: this program looks graet and if certain issues were resolved it would be! it certainly would not make me upgrade to its pro version, judging by its free versions performance. i simply could not get the shield to work properly and store its settings.... read more >>

Summary: I've downloaded this JUNK, started installing and it installed additional C++ stuff, ok! But after installation it asked for a reboot to complete. Rebooted and what a surprise! Windows won't load... after the Vista welcome screen.... nothing! Just a... read more >>

"Finds nasties others cant??."
Pros: Ran Scan after installation and found 5 nasties not found by Kapersky, or Superantispyware, that surprised me. Makes me wonder if these were false positives as Kaspersky and Superantispyware are two of the best finders and removers in the market.
Cons: Stopped certain programs in their tracks to a crawl and i mean waiting 5 minutes for something to happen!!. I cant Live with that, so despite possibly finding Spyware others seemingly cant, i immediately uninstalled and program speed was normal.
Summary: Not sure on this one, as Since Using Kaspersky, and Back up Superantispyware 4.21, which is improved from the download version on your website, and can be downloaded from Super anti spywares site, I have had no nasties show up just the odd cookie, ... read more >>
