This application offers a good array of features for monitoring PC activity in your absence. Similar to most software of its kind, SpyBuddy records keystrokes, Web sites visited, and applications used. The program offers you an easy method for configuring settings during launch, and the well-organized and modern interface makes it easy to keep tabs on everything. SpyBuddy can record all disk activities, printed documents, and clipboard contents, and you can regularly get reports via e-mail or FTP. Although you can schedule surveillance sessions in advance, you can't change settings remotely. The utility also can lead users away from temptation by blocking Web sites or applications of your choosing. Finally, like any good surveillance program, SpyBuddy is tough for others to detect and uninstall. If you need to keep children away from adult content or just want peace of mind, SpyBuddy is an easy and virtually foolproof way to wiretap your system.
From ExploreAnywhere Software:
SpyBuddy is the spy software and computer monitoring product for monitoring spouses, children, co-workers, or just about anyone else! SpyBuddy allows you to monitor all areas of your PC, tracking every action down the last keystroke pressed or the last file deleted. SpyBuddy comes equipped with the functionality to record all AOL/ICQ/MSN/AIM/Yahoo chat conversations, all e-mail's sent and received, all Web sites visited, all windows opened and interacted with, every application executed, every document printed, every file or folder renamed and/or modified, all text and images sent to the clipboard, every keystroke pressed, and every password typed. Version 3.7 is ViewMyLogs.com compatible and now records MSN Messenger 7.0.
What's new in this version:
Built-in support for Windows Limited User Accounts.
It also includes an updated keystroke logging engine to record filenames for each window typed in.
The program does record all pc activity and will email logs (prior to ver 3.7.5), screen shots and what not. So for basic opperation is is ok
I have submitted support request only to be told that flaws in the program are actually a feature. Typical programmers response! My last support request has gone unasnwered. Their web page is so out of date it does not even mention that there were minor release updates. On an XP system the logged on user needs to be an administrator for it to function properly. On their last "minor update" it killed all email notifications so now this does not work. When clearing out the logs the program has a regular tendancy to lock up and you have to kill it in task manager. When clearing logs and doing a multi select of logs to delete it will only delete the first log. You either have to delete them one at a time or all of them. They call this a feature! Avast anti virus now picks this program up so it will kindly tell the logging on user about the "spyware" that is now running. Version 3.7.5 does not work with Yahoo Messenger version 8.0. This program has great potential if they would just call a bug a bug, fix it, and respond to customers request for support. Until they do this I would probabally recommend looking for a different program.
I have no pros to share since the product will not work with Windows XP User Accounts.
The product does not work with my Windows XP Professional User Accounts. I have communicated with their customer support for nearly two months now, (seventeen messages back and forth). Two weeks ago, on February 14, they told me if I would e-mail one of their technical staff, they would send me a solution. I e-mailed them the same day (and two more times since then) and they still have not sent me anything. I have asked them for a refund several times, but they just ignore my request.
