  Pros: "Netgate" has done a great job with this update. This application now has a data base of 926,369 items on install, where the last version of the same software was about 144,000. The previous version looked the same but it was heavy and slow. They fixed that to. It has an excellent, user friendly GUI, six skins to choose from, fast scans, scheduled scans, auto updating, good detection, removal and no false positives. I love the improvements in this release and now think it's a good choice in this type application. I've always supported this company. I thought it was over with the first release of the 2007 but again, they proved that they are capable of producing a great product. My hats off to "Netgate" for an excellent release.

  Cons: I'm not sure about the active protection yet. Only time will tell but so far I have no cons to offer.

  "Unbelieveable!"

  Pros: Just when I thought I had found the best anti-spyware, anti-malware and anti-spam app. in CounterSpy, along comes Spy Emergency.

  Fully functional trial.

  Spy Emergency has a very simple and easy to us interface which is very user friendly.

  Very light on system.

  Choice between Standard or Deep scans. On my pc the Standard is 9 -11 mins. and the Deep is 20 - 25 mins. I'm not to concerned about the length of scans, but for those that are Spy Emergency is about 5 - 9 mins. shorter than CounterSpy.

  Keeps Log Files

  Choice of skins.

  Scheduled Scans: day, time, and type.

  Found infections moved to Tthe Cage" which is it's version of a quaranteen.

  Active Shielding and the choice of shielding. I was a little concerned about the active shielding....never noticed it... that is, until I tried to change my home page in my browser.

  Automatic Updates that for a better up to date database has a choice of time, and not day intervals.

  When I did my first Deep scan Spy Emergency found a threat that CounterSpy didn't....AwHelper.

  Thanks to my good friend Chainmail2006 for bringing Spy Emergency and other apps. to my attention.

  Cons: Folks I'm afraid the day of trusting the free security apps. are pretty much over. No longer can you trust Spybot, Ad-Aware SE, and AVG. The three I had trusted for a long time.

  Like alot of others, I was having trouble with it's updates. I lost $20 because it... I switched to Spy Emergency, nut can you afford to wait a couple of months or more til it's fixed? Well, I'll let you decide.

  "If Not The Best Paid Anti Spyware Apps, It's Definately One Of!!"

  Pros: In my opinion right now there is nothing out there in a paid anti spyware app. that comes close to Spy Emergency. It's very light use of system resources, user interface, easy of updates, and huge database its not a wonder why this is becoming a huge favorite.

  Its database of 942035 signatures( and counting) and hourly updates is one of my reasons why I like this app. This indicates that Netgate is really trying to do their best to combat spyware.

  Second is the Active Shielding and it's scanning. Active Shielding runs in the background and you don' t even realize that it is. The shielding also isn't intrusive. You have the option to select what shielding you want.

  Scanning is easy. Just check what you want scanned: memory, cookies, registry, drives, or all. You also have the option of a "deep" or "standard" scan. On mine the "deep" is 29 min. and the "standard" is 10 min.

  Scheduled scanning is also available.

  SE also has more than one skin.

  Log files of scan and updates.

  Cons: Been using it now for 2 wks. none.

  Version: Spy Emergency 2007 4.0.325

  "Great improvement."

  Pros: This release of "Spy Emergency" is deserving of 5 stars. Great interface, fast scans, no false positives, blocks spy cookies by default are just a few things thats been improved. This is the only app of it's type that found "ISTbar", a high risk adware on my computer and locked it up with a quickness. My operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium and I was having some problems with some other apps until this one helped me resolve them. It turned out to be a conflict between Counter Spy and Tuneup Utilities 2007. Tuneup wasn't performing the way it always had. This install corrupted Counter Spy for some reason so I uninstalled it. As soon as I did everything is back to running normally. This app has a great interface, shields that work without pestering the hall out of me and is now my first choice for a new anti spy app. Everyone needs to try this one.

  "Netgate has made a believer out of me!"

  Pros: This app is now the only anti spyware installed on my computer. It has a great interface, a huge signature file and scans my computer in standard scan mode in 6 minutes, 37 seconds. I have 41.7 GB used on my disk so to me, the scan time is very fast. I haven't had a single false positive, updates are smooth and the app is extremely light on resources. With the auto update bug "Counter Spy" now has, I've switched and will not renew my subscription to it. I'm comfortable with this app and recommend it highly.

  Cons: To date, none!
