Pros
I use this free webcam software just few months , but i like it and recommend it to other, because if you need some webcam and video software for fun and work you must have SplitCam on you PC.
I use new beta with video streaming to popular websites like livestream and ustream and justin.tv and i use cool webcam effects in skype and yahoo , when i speak with my family and friends .Cons
splitcam ask me to install some toolbar , but you can decline it in installation process if you want.

Judging by the pop ups my security was sending me I am assuming there is some backdoor element in the software. That was good enough for me to not bother spending time to find a solution to installing it.

I have been looking for something like this that will allow me to mix a good motion detector with a good webcam application that has a questionable motion detector.

My dad says this software is "dangerous" just because of the ad on the side. He says that this could be streaming live to the internet right now. w0w. Does the ad on the side change? Cuz it says "fee adult video chatting" or something like that. reconfigured browser search to bing. gave 'insufficient resources' when started.
Summary
NO ONE get's to reconfigure my browser without permission, what's worse, it asked permission, I unchecked the boxes, AND IT DID IT ANYWAY.

"Annoying - Changed My Search Engine automatically"

Pros
The desktop sharing "source" looks really good and easy. Easily switch between which video source you want to use.
Cons
It's nasty! It changed my default search engine on all my browsers without asking. It installed it's own toolbar in Firefox & IE without asking permission. And it wiped all my home pages and replaced it with it's own search page.

Watch out! It makes so many changes to your internet settings to point to itself - it's really annoying!

"Records Videos with NO SOUND-"

None,ever since they brought out the new version Splitcam 5,every sigle one including this records videos without any sound. What good is that?

Does not work. you cannot record or play videos with sound. This is a problem that has NEVER been fixed in any version of Splitcam 5,including this version.

Splitcam keep on saying that they will fix the sound problem in Splitcam 5 but they never do. About every 2 months they make new versions of Splitcam 5 and claim they have fixed the sound problem. BUT still I cannot record or play any webcam videos with sound. I do not know why they even bothered to make Splitcam 5. The old version 4 was better. Although it never was made to record videos it was better than this version. But now the old version is not supported although you can still get it. VERDICT- I have tried this on 4 computers and it does not work. So it is time for me to leave this software and move on to another webcam software. I was a fan of Splitcam until they changed it and made this-Splitcam 5. So now me and Splitcam are now parting company. I am moving on. Andrea Borman.
Well,it is pointless to make a product that says it records webcam videos if it will not record any sound. So this version is useless. Do not waste your time with this one. Andrea borman.
