Version: SpeedItup Free 10.01
This is a very small and user friendly program. It has a nice GUI. The install and options setup was easy.
I could see this as an option for inexperienced users and low traffic computers.
It caused no ill effects to my computer.
Uses little resources.
It didn't speed my computer up. It actually slowed down boot up time. Just another thing to load at start up. You have an option not to load with windows but then it is practically useless.
No scheduler. I guess you're suppose to just let it do it's thing when it wants to. Inevitably it started to conflict with other maintenance software when it wanted to run at the same time.
This will download crapware automatically and run it without any permission. There is an option to disable this feature but before I could turn it off it had already downloaded and ran a couple. I had to go to my control panel to find out all it had downloaded and uninstall (4 in total).
It's obtrusive. Pop ups all the time. Buy this and buy that. You have a gig a free online storage....you haven't backed up yet....etc...etc.. A Gig? lol. I might have a video that small.
It puts shortcuts on your desktop without asking and leaves junk behind after uninstall.
If you don't have any disk cleaners like Ccleaner or Wise, or if you have no other disk defragers (Windows has one built in), or any other type of maintenance software, then this could be a good starting point. Just remember the cons.
I don't believe this will cause any harm to your computer but I just can't recommend it. There are many much better free programs here on CNET than this. I suggest you try some of those instead.
