Publisher's description
From Spamfighter :If you are looking for an Outlook or Outlook Express tool to remove spam and phishing emails from your Inbox, Spamfighter is the tool you are looking for. Spamfighter is using the power of 3 million people that instantly report if they receive a spam mail. When several people have reported the same spam mail, it's automatically filtered for the rest of the Spamfighters. In this way very few people will ever see the spam mail. On top of that a lot of spam is filtered before it ever hits the community. Spamfighter is available in English, German, Spanish, Chinese, French, Italian, Greek, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Suomi, Japanese, Portuguese, Bulgarian, Russian, and Danish.
Version 5.3.1 improves spam filtering.

Version: Spamfighter 5.3.1
Pros: No need to train the filter. Install and the program begins to filter spam straightaway.
Cons: I had to uncheck "send and receive messages at startup" in Outlook Express options because OE loaded faster than Spamfighter and all spam went unfiltered. This is a minor annoyance, though. The real problem is that very often spamfighter doesn't load at all. I have to open and close Outlook Express several times before I get Spamfighter to load. This IS an annoyance, which led me to finally uninstall the program.

Version: Spamfighter 5.3.1
"Good, But Doesn't Learn From Past Errors - And It's Not Exactly Freeware"
Pros: Easy installation, has a "generic" feel to it. Can block either at the sender level or domain level, but be careful you don't block popular domains such as "aol.com" or "hotmail.com" from which you can and probably do receive both spam and legitimate email.
Cons: Doesn't learn from either past mistakes or successes as do the "bayes" spam-blockers; however, much easier to install and maintain. Lets through too much spam for my liking; however, it has an "aggressive" setting that I haven't tried yet. I currently receive an error when unblocking legitimate email that was classified as spam in error - my system is locked up until I have to "control-alt-delete" my way out of the program. I have a request in to their customer service for a fix. Also, if you haven't paid for the software and are still using it after 30 days, the program places a footer advertising itself on each and every one of your outgoing emails. Since CNET is classifying this as strictly freeware, I think they may have it in the wrong category, but not sure how their policy works under these circumstances...

"best I have used, & it is a free program"
Pros: catches more than I thought it could. works great!
Cons: popup appears after you unblock an email. you have to click "OK" or "CLOSE" to get back to what your doing. not bad, just annoying, but it is a free program
