Version: SpamExperts Home 1.1.7.2
"Another great idea that does not quite make the grade"
Pros: It automatically picks up your e-mail account information and lets you sort the spam from the good e-mails very easily.
Cons: It is incredibly slow. Sometimes retrieves e-mails but mostly ignores them so does not give one the opportunity to sort out the spam. On opening Outlook Express the program refuses to retrieve your e-mails, just hangs. SpamExperts closes agonizingly slowly and eventually refuses to respond necessitating shutting down the program with Task Manager. Wish they could sort this out as I think the program will eventually be a winner.

Version: SpamExperts Home 1.1.7.2
"Good protection, but has a couple of bugs."
Pros: Free!
Protects both IMAP and POP E-mail clients.
Preset to work with 12 of the most popular E-mail clients, more can be manually added.
Can block spam from your inbox or mark its subject line as spam to let your E-mail client decide what to do with it.
Worked well with all my POP accounts.
Cons: Not so well with IMAP accounts.
Using this with Incredimail and a Gmail account caused Incredimail to ask for confirmation of the connection everytime I tried to receive E-mails. This can be solved by removing Gmail's incoming port from the protection list (leaving Gmail unprotected).
With Incredimail and AOL SpamExperts kept sending a local message to my AOL accounts telling me I'm protected. This happened everytime I checked for AOL E-mails. This is worse than the spam I get!
Solved this one by putting SpamExperts on the list of blocked senders.
If you want to use this for a Gmail account - forget it!
The AOL problem appears to be a minor bug that is easy to work around.
Other than these problems this is a good spam protection app.
