Version: SpamExperts Home 1.1.6.2
Pros: Downloads e-mails before they appear in your e-mail program.
Ability to tell the program which mail is spam and which one isn't.
That way the program "learns" what's SPAM and what's not.
It's a good free program.
Cons: The first time it started up , it gave some message that you needed to verify if you are using SpamExperts Home for non-commercial use.
The message also stated that if you use it commerically , you would be fined ...
It installs a new LSP , my Panda Platinum Internet Security 2007 prompted me about it.
I let it install it, I hope it's safe.
No web-based mail support.
I get SPAM on my Hotmail account very often.
On my home e-mail I don't get that much SPAM.

Version: SpamExperts Home 1.1.6.2
Pros: After a sometimes frustrating training period, it now catches 99% of the spam I get as the result of filling out several surveys for one of those "pay for your opinion" places (if you're thinking of trying THAT, don't...you'll start getting hundreds of spams a day!).
I tried Spamfighter, but the emails still came in and choked Outlook Express to the point that clients couldn't send me emails. SpamExperts lives in a separate part of the computer, and I haven't received a single complaint from a client who couldn't reach me because my mailbox was full. THAT has been worth thousands of dollars to me.
I also tried one of those "confirmation" programs, which made my friends and clients mad and I think actually INCREASED the amount of spam I was getting.
It takes a little while for SpamExperts to get up to speed (I admit I came within one day of deleting it, but it finally caught on and now works beautifully), but after it begins working, it does exactly what it's supposed to.
As someone who works from home on the Internet, this program has been a godsend to me. Try it, and give it enough time to learn what's spam and what isn't, and I think you'll be as happy as I have been. It saved MY business.
Oh, and it's FREE, without any nagging upgrade screens!
Cons: It can be a bit frustrating at first, but I tried about a dozen other programs before I stumbled on SpamExperts, and this is the only one I still use. Just don't give up in frustration too early. I almost did, and it would have been a big mistake.

"Does SpamExperts expose you to a Virus?"
Pros: I like the concept very much. Keeps the spam from Outlook.
Cons: I used to use an very old free version of MailWasher and deleted spam from the server before downloading. Even though I never see the spam with SpamExperts, it sure sets off my virus scanner. I'm concerned I might be susceptible to a new undetected virus or trojan.
