"Easy to install but leaves a big mess when uninstalled"
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: I use Mozilla Thunderbird and was looking for some help with weeding out SPAM and from reading the publishers information Spam Monitor looked like it might be the answer. It was easy to install but be warned, you will have to re-enter all your mailbox passwords after you do, luckily I have mine all written down.
I used the program for about a week but found I was getting just as much SPAM and although it was identifying it, it was not doing any better than Thunderbird did on its own.
Not long after I started using the program I began to get server timeout errors if I had a lot of messages, plus it was very slow downloading messages even when their servers did work.
I contacted their tech help people and I will admit they were quick to respond but although it states in their information "Spam Monitor will work with all mail clients that use POP3" they now tell me it does not work with Thunderbird, although it is a POP3.
That was it, I decided to uninstall Spam Monitor and boy was I in for a surprise, when I tried to get my Email after the uninstall I could not access my Email at all. I discovered that Spam Monitor had changed all my mail server and user names so I had to go thru and redo them all. Again, luckily I had all this information but it still took quite a bit of time to redo my 12 Email accounts.
All in all, if you still want to try this program go ahead, but make sure you have all your passwords, mail server and user name information written down and have the knowledge to be able to change all this back if you uninstall it. If you dont you could end up in big trouble.

Cons: The description SAYS it works for all Pop-3 email, but Nooooo....
I use Mozilla Thunderbird. Uninstalled Spam Monitor trial 3 days ago, and FINALLY have MY email working again, but my husband's and sons' accounts STILL won't work, and whatever gremlin SM left behind won't let me reset their accounts!! Don't even TRY this software!! Beware!!
