    "Unstable, and now unnecessary"

    December 26, 2008  |   By mwewe

Version: Spam Bully for Outlook Express 4.3.0.3

    Pros

When it works, it does an adequate job

    Cons

Integration with Outlook Express is problematical. Hangs a lot, and is too complex.

    Summary

Spambully is obsolete now that you can download Windows Live Mail for desktop from windowslive.com, and do it for free. It's the next upgrade from Outlook Express and is a much better product. It has rules, black/white lists, and automatic spam recognition that does a great job. I used Spambully for years and it never performed as well as Live Mail. Also, the messages are stored in an unencrypted clear text database, improving performance, and makind data recovery easier. Also, each message is in a separate file so storage is more efficient. Also, you can't really buy Spambully. You can only rent it for a year because your license will expire and you'll need to buy another one, a bit cheaper, but still required. If you stick with an older version then you can't upgrade, and the software's bugs will catch up to you eventually. Take a look at Spambully's forum and you'll see lots of problems that persist for a long time. Rather than download this program and pay $30 to keep it, I'd recommend trying Windows Live Mail at http://www.windowslive.com/Explore/Mail for free.

Version: Spam Bully for Outlook Express 4.3.0.3

    Pros

I like having the options at hand to:

And take advantage of the Options & Stats

    Cons

When I first downloaded it...I didn't know it was a trail time (14-days)...However I did contact them & they allowed me an additional 30-day registration...allowing me time to purchase. :0)

    Summary

Very user friendly...And as I stated earlier:

I like having the options at hand to:
    Fight Back

"crap,it will create more spam than you started with"

    October 20, 2008  |   By baltec

Version: Spam Bully for Outlook Express 4.2.0.7

    Pros

You click on a spam e-mail,and the the tab that says spam, and this removes this to your spam folder, and so you dont get any more spam from this sender.Sounds good.

    Cons

After you do the above, this load of crap, seems to draw in more spam, than you have highlighted.I used this piece of s**t,and at the start i was getting roughly 20-30 spam.To-day i am receiving 400-450 junk spam each day.

    Summary

Sure it keeps your inbox clean, but you have no option but to download all the crap that this piece of junk, seems to make .

    "Would not recommend"

    July 20, 2008  |   By CarpeDiemVoice

Version: Spam Bully for Outlook Express 4.1.0.12

    Cons

It kept crashing my Outlook upon start-up. My experience is that Spam Bully releases software before it is fully vetted of issues.

    "Spammers PROGRAM.. Beware!"

March 27, 2008  |   By mike average user

Version: Spam Bully for Outlook Express 4.1.0.12

    Pros

    NOTHING!

    Cons

I HATE this program with a passion. Spam shot up over night. I used to get 5-10 spam emails per day. I installed this program; thinking it would only go down. The very next day I got 20-30 spam emails. The spam did not slow down; in fact it got worse and increasing inappropriate. Spam Bully had very slow response times for tech support. When they did respond, what was suggested went NO PLACE!

This program that gets you listed as a spammer?s ip. I never heard of a spammer?s ip and did not care. However, after I got listed 3 times in a short 4 months I cared. Some company in England has the power to shut your ip down and thanks to Spam Bully, I found this out. If the K.I.S.S. theroy applies anywhere, it sure applies here. I used a simple free product that came with my software bundle and now I get 1-2 spams per week.

If you buy this product, you would be as foolish as I. I hope you do not buy this spam happy product!

"Good program but not worth the money"

    October 19, 2007  |   By mwewe

Version: Spam Bully for Outlook Express 4.1.0.12

    Pros

The interface is clean, it's integrated into OE, and it's easy to set up. The best part is the customer service and forum.

    Cons

Too expensive. I bought the last version for $30. I was willing to upgrade, but the licenses they now sell expire after one year - you have to rent, rather than buy the program. Also, it uses resources with a service, and it has lots of bugs. Just check out their forums to get a sample. I agree with the other reviewer that it promotes very disruptive and poor practices such as bouncing email, using challenge/response systems, and bombing spammers. These all add the the networks already overloaded with spam-related garbage, and cause many an innocent victim to be bombed with e-mail or reported as a spammer. Most return addresses on spam are lifted from legitimate and innocent users. If you really need an integrated program, I'd recommend something like the free SpamBrave program. Better yet is the more complicated but highly configurable, effective, and free Spamihilator. There are lots programs that only charge once for their product, or are free to begin with. Try them instead, and stay away from bombing, reporting, and bouncing -- all of which just add to our misery.
