Publisher's description
From SourceTec Software :Sothink SWF Decompiler is a tool for browsing, viewing, and parsing Shockwave Flash movies (SWF). It supports exporting the FLA file and can extract shapes, images, sounds, Flash video files (FLV), font, text, movie clips, buttons, and frames from a Flash movie. Furthermore, SWF Decompiler can decompile the action scripts in a Flash movie and turn them into neat and readable code. The program supports the Flash MX 2004 format and ActionScript 2.0.
Version 2.7.50628 adds playback control-bar on the interface and supports exporting ActionScript in .as format.

Version: Sothink SWF Decompiler 2.7 build 50628
Pros: none really ... instilling a false hope is detrimental to everything.
Cons: the decompiled files never work.

Version: Sothink SWF Decompiler 2.7 build 50628
"there are better swf to fla converters"
Cons: ave-imperator.com/pages/testmay.html
Didn't you read the test page?
We have thousands of swf files to prove the result.
I mean, if the decompiler would have failed to create clean fla documents for 10 or 20 percent of our test pool files one could still argue that this is a statistical anomaly (which could happen, of course).
It failed to create clean fla documents for more than 97 percent - that is no statistical anomaly - that is a fact!

"So, when will it do something?"
Pros: Occupational therapy in a do-nothing sort of way
Cons: The only thing I got to work was the pop-up for opening a file. Once I chose the file, nothing showed, none of the four files I chose showed, and nothing else I clicked on worked either. Can you say "Never-Neverland"? 177K+ downloads? You gotta be kidding!

"provide a url to download all of your testing swfs"
Pros: upload all your swf files to your server, and publish that url for everybody to download those files and do the test. Request via email is not an open way.

Version: Sothink SWF Decompiler 2.7 build 50628
"The program clearly fails to recover complex files."
Cons: Sothink makes the claim that their Decompiler MX 2005b is "The world's leading flash decompiling tool to ... especially convert your SWF to FLA".
Well, we put it to the test:
@ ww.ave-imperator.com/pages/testmay.html
The SWF Decompiler MX 2005b Build 50408 was able to recover 131 clean FLA documents from our pool of 4603 complex and ActionScript-heavy SWF files. That is less than 3% - making the words "world's leading" not only questionable, but plain false and rather ridiculous. There is absolutely no doubt that IMPERATOR °FLA v2.0 is a better and much more reliable SWF to FLA converter than the SWF Decompiler MX 2005b.
