"I find it easy to adjust my sound for im messenger"

Version: SoliCall 1.3.1
"Superb piece of work for FREE???"
Pros: Well, it does probably the job recording VoIP phone conversations of any software I have tried. Work for my Yahoo Messenger and Skype accts. and undoubtedly for most or all of the others. In addition to being free, it has a unique sound quality optimizer that really works and produces dramatically clearer voices without background noises. Quite remarkable.
The only minor negatives are, one, it is not a slick eye-candy interface. Two, during setup on XP SP2, a popup message informs you that this software (which is beta) doesn't comply with Microsoft standards, and therefore continuing installation is strongly discouraged. I set a restore point to be safe just in case.
I did have a problem configuring, and wasted time troubleshooting because I didnt' go to the FAQs at the website. If I had, I would have gotten my problem solve easily. It is necessary to go into the options menu and select your driver from the dropdown. Also, I had to go to the Control Panel 'sounds' utility and make proper selections of drivers for input output and speaker. Thirdly, go into Yahoo and/or Skype and select the right driver (SoliCall of course) . Get all three configs right, and this will almost certainly work on any XP SP2 system, I would imagine.
After installation, all my sound applications have worked ok without conflicts (on a basic Dell laptop and soundcard). I tested the call recording feature (which was my reason for trying this) and it worked well. Competing VoIP recording software is out there and plentiful but overpriced (some ridiculously so) in my opinion, and much of it is specific to the softphone e.g. Skype. SoliCall can work with all. Thank you Solicall. You Karma is enriched. Amen
