Publisher's Description
From SoliCall:
SoliCall has developed innovative software that helps VoIP users to improve voice quality. Screaming kids? Disturbing Echo? Keyboard-strokes? With SoliCall it will sound less disturbing than it really is. This version is aimed at improving your experience by giving you better sound quality when making any type of VoIP call (e.g. PC-to-PC, PC-to-Phone). SoliCall is designated to reduce ambient noise and acoustic echo. Its performance can be enhanced by tuning it to a specific speaker. SoliCall can also screen the incoming audio. SoliCall supports major Voice over Internet Protocols telephony services like Skype, Google Talk, Yahoo! Messenger and others. Another feature in this software enables the users to record their calls. The audio files would be saved automatically under the user's name. The Inquirer: "SoliCall shuts out the noise...they get the job done...especially as it's a free, quick download and performs well it's strikes me as something of a no-brainer...The best sound elimination was with constant noises which were eliminated completely, but almost all other background noise was at least dampened considerably if not completely removed...I was pleasantly surprised as to how well SoliCall actually worked, I was expecting some improvements but it did a much better job than I had anticipated...I can highly recommend SoliCall"

"Only for Windows XP and 2000"
Version: SoliCall 1.6.7
Pros
A wonderful idea, but
Cons
It does not work with Windows Vista or Windows 7. Hopefully, the new version will cover those.

"A really awesome product but..."
Version: SoliCall 1.6.7
Pros
This program really works. It adds value to sound and is very distinguishable. This company has made a name for itself with this product but...
Cons
NO windows 7, 64 bit version !
Why would they NOT have this by now?Summary
It works on OLDER versions of windows.
It DOES NOT WORK on windows 7 period. Very SAD. -
"Not for Windows Vista or Windows 7"
Version: SoliCall 1.6.6
Pros
What I was looking for, but (please see below).
Cons
I does not work with Windows Vista. It works with Windows XP and 2000. The End User Agreement says that the software is for testing purposes. I conclude that therefore the software needs further testing.
Summary
I could not use it in the computer that has Windows Vista. I have not tested it in anything else.

Cons
Windows 7 release needed.

Solicall is one of the few products that are not ready for win7 yet. Hoping for a release asap.

"I find it easy to adjust my sound for im messenger"

"Superb piece of work for FREE???"
Version: SoliCall 1.3.1
Pros
Well, it does probably the job recording VoIP phone conversations of any software I have tried. Work for my Yahoo Messenger and Skype accts. and undoubtedly for most or all of the others. In addition to being free, it has a unique sound quality optimizer that really works and produces dramatically clearer voices without background noises. Quite remarkable.
The only minor negatives are, one, it is not a slick eye-candy interface. Two, during setup on XP SP2, a popup message informs you that this software (which is beta) doesn't comply with Microsoft standards, and therefore continuing installation is strongly discouraged. I set a restore point to be safe just in case.
I did have a problem configuring, and wasted time troubleshooting because I didnt' go to the FAQs at the website. If I had, I would have gotten my problem solve easily. It is necessary to go into the options menu and select your driver from the dropdown. Also, I had to go to the Control Panel 'sounds' utility and make proper selections of drivers for input output and speaker. Thirdly, go into Yahoo and/or Skype and select the right driver (SoliCall of course) . Get all three configs right, and this will almost certainly work on any XP SP2 system, I would imagine.
After installation, all my sound applications have worked ok without conflicts (on a basic Dell laptop and soundcard). I tested the call recording feature (which was my reason for trying this) and it worked well. Competing VoIP recording software is out there and plentiful but overpriced (some ridiculously so) in my opinion, and much of it is specific to the softphone e.g. Skype. SoliCall can work with all. Thank you Solicall. You Karma is enriched. Amen

"Good noise detection/reduction"
Version: SoliCall 1.1.8
Pros
Seems to be effective so far, things like keyboard noise does not get transmitted at all. Some echo (in my office which lacks soft items) is definitely eliminated.
I like the graphs to be able to see if it is eliminating noise. I probably won't use it much once I get used to it.
Cons
Install was quite basic, but did work.
