Quickly hide, not minimize, all your running applications with this very useful freeware utility. Other than a tray icon, Panic Station has little in the way of an interface. You can context-click the tray icon to see a list of hidden windows, or to run a custom application. Most users will simply use the program as intended: Click the button to hide windows and load an application that fools your boss.

There are many programs that will minimize all your running programs. The problem is that they're all still listed on your taskbar. With just one click, Panic Station hides every program and even clears your taskbar. Use the custom application option, and your click also starts a program to ensure it appears that you're hard at work and not playing your 75th straight game of solitaire. Hiding all apps takes a very brief second, and they come back as quickly when you press the tray icon. You can also easily set a hot key to invoke this utility.

Our only gripe is a very minor one. To set Panic Station's options you have to open a program window, click on a pull-down, and select the feature. That's two steps too many. Still, this freeware is easily recommended for users who don't want to be caught goofing off at work.

Publisher's description

From Soft191 :

Quickly hide all those open windows from prying eyes. Panic Station is a program which when run resides in the system tray. It's purpose is to hide all open windows (and their taskbar buttons) with one click of the mouse (left button) on the icon which resides in the system tray (usually the bottom right of the screen). Programs are not shut down or closed, merely hidden until the mouse is clicked on the system tray icon again.

When you exit the program, any hidden windows are restored. Right clicking on the system tray icon will bring up a menu. Instead of clicking the tray icon to hide/show windows, you can assign a hot key to do the same thing (for example, Ctrl+F1). Version 1.01 has quicker hiding of windows and password protected.
