CNET Editors' review
SnoopFree Privacy Shield will tell you if someone is spying on you, although the program doesn't fully uninstall nosy applications. While its interface is dull, this fast-acting program immediately alerts you when a spy module is found and gives you options to allow or disallow the uncovered application. It worked beautifully in evaluations, instantly exposing the monitoring tools we installed to test it. SnoopFree Privacy Shield revealed the names of the spy tools, their corresponding file paths, and even pinpointed which files from the spy program captured keyloggers, screenshots, and opened windows. You'll be able to instantly remove the files, blocking their logging efforts altogether, but once files are deleted it requires a system reboot to take effect. Although this application doesn't uninstall monitoring applications for you, it eliminates the need for the software's password by going after the files. Any user concerned with security and privacy should consider adding this simple, yet effective freeware program to his or her security toolkit.Publisher's Description
From SnoopFree Software:
Protect yourself from keyloggers and activity monitors with this FREE Windows XP product. With version 1.0.5, this product is now free. I've removed the copy protection system that was causing compatibility problems with many machines. This should improve stability a great deal.

"BEWARE!!!!!"
Version: SnoopFree Privacy Shield 1.0.7
Pros
none cause i did not tr it out. read below
Cons
I tried to download, and received an alert from zone alarm's browser force field, saying it is malicious... it hides itself, and disguises itself as system files.
Summary
I didnt download, so i cant say how well it woks or not. just be careful with this..ive been using zone alarm force field for a while now, and only one case of false positive so far.

"Didn't work for me...disappointing really."
Version: SnoopFree Privacy Shield 1.0.7
Pros
It sounded good and I was looking forward to installing and running this software based on what I read from the editor's review and other users.
Cons
I unzipped the download and my Sophos anti-virus immediately flagged this as Sus/Dropper-A which exhibits characteristics commonly, but not exclusively, found in malware.
Summary
Maybe my anti-virus was being a bit over zealous but when I tried to run the executable file it produced an error message stating that I didn't have sufficient permissions to run this application even though I have administrators privileges for this user account. I tried right clicking an selecting the run as administrator option but that didn't work either. It could've been just a corrupted download perhaps but by that point I lost interest.

"PC would not boot with it"
Version: SnoopFree Privacy Shield 1.0.7
Pros
Like the idea.
Cons
I installed it while running Win XP, Avira AV, Comodo Firewall, WinPatrol and SuperAntiSpyware. I rebooted as requested by the SnoopFree install program, and Windows refused to launch completely, displaying an error message then rebooting etc.
Summary
I ran the computer in Safe Mode, picked the previous day's restore point (I have software that creates one each day) and it booted fine.

I appreciate the ability to go back and change my mind regarding a program later.Cons
none so far
Summary
easy to use, immediately after downloading and scanning it found 2 keylogger programs which were stopped. much appreciated!
